Any information on the 2005 X-Type 3.0 regarding the AWD? It's supposed to be a 60/40 push pull, but I've heard Jaguar pulled the viscous-coupler in this model year-- so it really isn't AWD.
Jaguar has confirmed that the AWD (Not 4-Wheel Drive) system changed-- either in 2004 or 2005. The sales brochure and salesman stated 60/40 push-pull and power would transfer as needed. This really can't happen without viscous coupler. I need explanation on how it works and when it kicks in. Car is defintely REAR WHEEL DRIVE when it starts off... rear wheels will spin and front won't. Jaguar has confirmed that the AWD (Not 4-Wheel Drive) system changed-- either in 2004 or 2005. Have someone push down on the hood over the hood latch area while you pull the release, that may work. Once it is open lube everything up with white Lithium grease also known as "LUBRIPLATE:"
Trunk pull-cable Access Is by way of IN TRUNK, A HIGH QUALITY SPRAY TYPE Lubricant Should Be Used here to Free Up Mechanical Parts, Allowing for Proper Operation of this Door
first thing to try is redexe fuel injector cleaner at 1 can to 1/2 tank diesel, then see if you need to anything else.......(start with the cheapest solution first..)
To enable or disable the seat belt warning chime on your 2005 Jaguar Type S
1. Ensure the front passenger seat is unoccupied.
NOTE:
Steps two to five must be completed within 60 seconds.
2. Turn the ignition to the RUN position (do not start the engine).
3. Buckle the driver safety belt buckle and wait until the seat belt warning lamp extinguishes.
4. Unbuckle the driver safety belt buckle and wait until the seat belt warning lamp illuminates.
5. Repeat Steps three and four a further eight times.
6. When the driver safety belt buckle is unbuckled for the ninth time a single chime will be heard. The single chime is acknowledgement that the beltminder feature has been disabled.
The beltminder feature will be disabled until the above process (Steps one to six) are repeated. Upon repeating the process the beltminder feature will be reactivated
I know it sound obsured but i found the easiest way without damaging anything or your hands is to take the front bumper off, it's about two hrs work.
Really there is no easy way unless you can find somebody with really small hands and even then its hard.hope this helps
