Either the fuel pump is bad or the line out of the fuel pump(inside the tank) has a hole in it. I have had to have two replaced on my 88chev PU. I am persuming that you have plenty of fuel in the tank.

P0305 cylinder misfire in 96 chevy z71 k1500 5.7 vortec

i would not spend the money on heads w/out diagnosing # 5 misfire. misfire is caused by many different things. i would first start by verifying in fact #5 is at fault. start engine, with it running and using well insulated plyers, pull each wire off dist. cap one at a time. you will notice the engine missing worse each one you pull until you reach the one causing the miss. this wire, when pulled, will not change the evident missing cylinder. if it is #5, check spark, at spark plug end. stick a small screwdriver or equivilent in the removed boot, and place it a cm away from a ground source. start engine. observe spark. should be nice and blue, and ark a good inch from ground. if no spark, swap a wire and check again. if still no spark replace cap and rotor. if their is spark, make check plug. even though new, its easy to crack porcilan installing it. try another plug. if still a miss, start engine with plug removed, breifly, and compression should be evident. strong popping noise of compressed air. a compression gauge is the proper test ( 4 strokes 125 psi) but if audible compression is heard without a doubt, more than likely fine. w spark and compression seeming ok, next is possible fuel, (injector) or intake leak, leaning ouy cylinder. try this and let me know. Im working on a 97 k1500 5.7L with p0301 has good spark and compression on cyl 1 how can i tell if its gettin fuel to that cyl. doesnt have normal injecters like a ford or dodge

A 1997 Chevy with a 5.7 has multi port injectors so you should have one for each cylinder.
I would check the injector for that cylinder and see what the ohms resistance is and that you are getting power and a ground pulse for it.
If you know for a fact that cylinder has spark and normal compression you may have to change the injector as the last option.

Flooding 95 mustang with a 3.8

Well if it is flooding, either something is shorting out the injectors and causing them to be wide open, or one injector is stuck open, or you have a pressure regulator leaking liquid fuel into the intake.
Are all of the spark plugs wet ?
Can you start the engine if you disable the injectors ?

My truck doesnt get fuel to the spark plugs on the drivers side its a chevey efi 1500 what could be the problem

Bad injector on the throttle body. Crank engine and see if you can see the injector that is not spraying fuel with air cleaner removed.

I have a chevy 454 BB and it fires on 4365 but not on 1872. timing is correct and its getting spark but just wont run.

Check thr TBI (throttle body injector). The injector on the right side feeds fuel to 4365 thru the intake passages(follow the air flow pattern of the intake manifold). It sounds like you have a bad injector, either not firing or very restriced flow.

I have a 98 k1500 with 5.7 350 and it wont start, has spark and fuel at the tbi but the injectors wont fire, will run on ether if sprayed down the tbi any ideas

have the fuel pressure checked ,im assuming it is a vortec,
you need about 55 psi continusly to keep it running, i have a 96 2500 sierra. the fuel pumps were known to be terrable in these trucks. i put a new one in, then had to remove it to replace it again amonth later, they are flawed by manufacturing design.

Need help with my 99 gmc yukon! replaced map sensor, and idle air control module. getting gas to shaffer valve, getting spark to the spark plugs. yellow fire.

Im guessing the vehicle wont start? If so you shouldnt rule out fuel just because your getting fuel to the shrader valve, these vehicle require a certain amount of fuel pressure to run, im guessing around 60psi, so i would check fuel pressure, if ok keep in mind that these vehicles also had a problem with early failure on the fuel injectors, GM sells a new design injector set up for them.

Why is my Chevy C/K1500 misfiring? It is not the spark plugs or spark plug wires those have been replaced. It is the number 3 Cylinder, what could it be?

Compression, air/vaccume leak, pluged injector.
My guess would be a bad injector, GM has an update kit for all of the injectors, with all new injectors, a body, and fuel regulator!

1988 gmc k1500 wont start

hi, check the connections at the ecm,i think it's under pass front seat,i've had a couple of those years loose injector signal at ecm connector,if you have a test light you can unplug injectors and test across terminals ,it's a 12v signal at inj ,if lights flash on both while cranking try plugging in one at a time and see if either sprays, if one does and not the other, you would have a shorted injector
