Question about 1994 Honda Accord

My 94 honda accord wont start

It ran hot for a couple of days and I would wait til it cooled down and put water in it while engine running and it continued to start. Well a couple of days ago it ran hot and the engine light came on. I pulled over, let it cool down, as usual, put water in the radiator, while engine still on, and the engine starts shaking really bad, so I stopped adding water and turned the engine off. When I immediately tried to start it again, wouldnt start. Its trying to turn over but it wont. It kinda gives a "die-down" type of noise as though the battery is dying, but it even does this when I connect it to jumper cables and another car. I realize that my head gaskets could be blown or the head warped. I could use a sealant to correct this problem but how do I get it started so that I can use the sealant,.....HEEEELLLLLLP!!

Remove the spark plugs and turn the engine over could be the head gasket if so the stop leak additive is a tempory soloution to a perminent problem. replace head gasket

if the head gasket is in fact leaking then their is coolant getting on top of the piston and preventing the piston from stroking.

Why wont my 94 accord 4 cyl start when its warm out?

A common problem with no-start Honda cars is the fuel pump relay under the dash.
I would check that first. Could also be a faulty coil.

1996 honda accord starts up fine runs 10 15 minutes engine shuts down wait 5 ,10 minutes starts back up shuts off short time after

sounds like there could be a problem somewhere along the fuel line either between the pump and that engine or between the filter and the engine i have a car that would do the same thing turned out to be the fuel filter was full of **** ran like a dream after i changed that.

When I turned off my 2000 Honda Accord the other day one of the fans kept running and ran for about 20 minutes before shutting off. The car seems to be running fine now but I wondered if I should have my...

The fan running and staying on after the vehicle is shut off is sometimes normal to a point. Meaning that if an engine is to hot, low on coolant then the fan will come on and stay on to help cool the engine down after the vehicle has been shut off. But for it staying on for 20 minutes is not right either. I would wait and see if it happens again, if it does then I would have either a Mobile Mechanic or a shop look at the car to figure out why it is staying on.

Runs fine til the temp out gets hot enough then dies. Wait ten mins and it will start again and run for a few mins then dies again

you didn't say if it was hot on the temp gauge? no matter, it sounds like you have a stuck t-stat. when the engine is cold, a mechanical valve keeps the water from coming out of the engine block until warmed up, then opens and lts the cooler water in. this cools down the engine and the colder temp of the water shuts the valve again. this happens constantly while the engine runs, and if your t-stat is stuck, the engine heats up the water in the block, but with nowhere to go, simply overheats the motor. a good repair book will locate the thermostat housing for you and should you the repair procedure. (i assume you have checked the water in the rad. low water will give you same symptoms). good luck.

no - an alternator will NOT cause the engine to overheat like you have stated.

Sorry. Could also be a cracked head or block. Take the spark plugs out and see if they are wet.  Charge battery and turn engine over with the coil grounded and the sparkplugs out. If water flyes out of any cylinder, you may have to disassemble the engine.
