Question about 1998 GMC Sierra
Slips in drive and reverse when cold...will not shift into overdrive...transmission lines blew and were replaced two weeks ago with new fluid...fluid is now brown
Unfortunately if it is brown rusty color you have a serious problem! this usually occurs once you have burned up the clutch plates with in the core of transmission! honestly I do not aim to discourage you but your probably going to have to eventually change this transmission! if you have a strong aroma from the dip stick it is burned up!!!! I have change plenty of these over the years due to the same circumstances.Good luck and hope that it all works out for you,John
