my 2002 F250 7.3 DIESEL does pretty much the same thing... if i drive without warming up ...it will run for a little bit ...sputter and dies.... takes a while to get it going again. acts like if it is diesel starved... if i let it idil for it will sputter a little and then i can drive...it has gotten worst over the last week. had this happen before...dealership said it was the rear filter... from what i have read...2002 7.3 doesn't have a 2nd filter... i have change the filter on top and it still is doing it... any advice

Camshaft position sensor had a recall last year and was a notorious problem. If you have the money and do not want to wait you can buy the part yourself and swap it out with a 10 mm socket. Call Ford dealer and see if you can bring it in.

sounds like a fuel problem, how many miles on vehicle? as a quick fix it would be worth using a fuel addative , you haven't said if petrol or diesel, if petrol get addative that covers the catalytic converter ,having a blocked exhaust system can cause engine to stall also get the OBD codes read as this will tell you what if any sensors/switch's are faulty

Series II 4.0 litre V8 Land Rover Discovery runs but stalls out after a few miles. The vehicle restarts after cooling down it seems. This generally takes a couple of hours or a tow back home. Service

Sounds like the same issue I had with my 2002 Discovery 2 V8. Mine used to run for about 10 minutes, then die, usually in the most inconvenient locations! The Crank sensor is in need of replacement. It sits near the exhaust downpipe (behind a heat shield) but obviously this shield isn't enough as they die after about 80,000-100,000 miles. Just get it replaced and I think your issues will solved.

You need to get the fault code scanned to be able to get an idea of where the problem is. It's possible you have a coil pack that goes bad when it heats up.
