    Runs hot

I have installed new expansion tank cap-installed new thermostat.

If let the car run in driveway a long time the fans do work, the fans will run and stop and in
sort time they will run again
and they will do this all day setting steal,
if I drive it about 10 miles at 70, it get hot, steam will come out of the
expansion tank and the FANS ARE NOT
    RUNING.

There is a relay that you might need to check
if not the fans them self might need replacing as they are a thermal type and on some cars they have there own sensor
that is the only thing i can think of unless you have a short happening in the system but the the relays would blow along with the fuse

Fan radiator not work in FORD ESCAPE 2009

there are two fans one must come on with the air con, the other when the engine thermostat opens when the engine is hot, most times not on when driving as air flow keeps the engine cool, If it does not come on when hot , check fuses and the fan temp censer.

Can ANYBODY help me with a problem on a 1998 chevrolet Cavalier?? The tempature gauge was working then just bottoming out now it won't work at all, any ideas????

If you replaced the temp censer. Check the terminal on the wire to the censer is clean and a good tight fit . you can check the censer with a ohm meter . with the engine cold take reading jot it down, bring engine to running temp. take a reading , the resistance will be lower if the censer is ok. connect the meter one probe to censer terminal other probe to earth to take the readings. You could try and reset the computer by taking the + terminal of the battery for a few minutes . you will need the code to reset radio and cd player.

Cooling fan relay location for a 1992 corvet

the air con fan comes on with the air con switch. the engine cooling fan comes on when the engine temp. censer reaches operation temp. most times the air through the radiator when driving is enough to keep the censer cool and the fan not working if you stop at lights for any length of time it will come on.

We have a 2002 Chevy Malibu.. And the fans want run to keep the motor cool.. When the motor get too hot the car will shut off.. So, what do I do about it??

First check fuses, there are two fans if fitted with air con. The air con. fan only comes on with the air con. The engine radiator cooling fan comes on at operation tem., it is controlled by a censer switch on the radiator .If there is power to the switch and the switch is OK the fan motor is at fault.

Air conditioner works fine while driving. When stopped for a light, temperature gage goes up and fan blows hot air.

Hello: Check the radiator cooling fan. With engine running and A/C on open hood look down on the back-side of the grill, that's where the cooling fan is. It should be running, if not check the fuses, cooling fan relays/module if they are ok then you may have a cooling fan motor failure. You can use jumper cables to hot wire the fan motor to see if it runs.

COOLING FANS NOT WORKING WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM

I would check the fan first, run a hot wire to one side of the plug, if you unplug the fan you must ground one side. if fan works, then next check the fan relay. only other thing it could be is the temperature censer on the engine block, should be close to the upper radiator hose

(Thermostat) side, this works on a ground bases. Hope this helps you!!!
