It appears you have a loose connection somewhere. Re check your battery wires ensure the positive is not loose.
Ensure your negative terminal is tight and clean and check the cable where it connects to the engine block.

Also check your connectins to the alternator, ensure they are clean and snug at the terminals, last but not least, have your alternator check. It could be getting ready to give out.

Lights flickering at idle stops when accelerating

increase idle rpm's to around 750-800 and there will not be a problem. another way is to put a smaller drive pulley on the alternator or a bigger drive pulley on the crankshaft.

Car dies while driving, has full tank of gas, but all power dies in the car as well, including hazard lights

If the lights are flickering I would be checking for a loose or dirty battery connection. If the power to the cpu is intermittent ( indicated by flickering lights ) that is why the engine dies

Idle and light flickering

If your lights are flickering at idle only then I would assume the problem to be an undercharged battery most likely caused by an alternator not putting out enough amps. Better have the alternator/battery checked before it gives out completely. Please rate this answer, thanks.

Lights flickering

If the light is flickering and not just becoming brighter or dimmer with engine rpm, I'd suspect an electrical short, possibly between the battery and alternator or inside the alternator itself. have the alternator output checked before going further with diagnosis and before it fails completely and becomes more difficult to diagnose.

Check Alternator Diode if one is bad it can make your lights flicker, but it will show the alternator as being good.

Flickering lights

In some 1999/2000 Cougars the wire between the battery and the voltage regulator(altenator) had a resistance reading that is too high. Ford has issued an TSB 00-25-6 that has instructions on how to replace this wire. The part # for the replacement wire is

Dashboard lights flashing. all of them.

I work for honda and have seen this often. Mostly on the newer vehicles (2008 and newer). we have always fixed this by replacing the insterment cluster. expensive yes but always fixed it. it in itself is a seperate computer so when it is replaced it will need to be initalized through the HDS

Flickering lights on 2001 Chevy tracker

I had similar problems, with dash board lights and headlights flickering, and the problem was a dying alternator. After I changed it, everything got back in normal. Also, a bad alternator eventually will kill your car's battery, too. I hope this will help you.
