Question about 1985 Ford F150
I have 1985 F150 8 cyl. 4x4 and lots of snow but roads are still slick. when I turn the wheels too far truck clunks and also when backing up tires chatter and I can hear clunking sounds from the back area. This is first time _I__ have used the 4 wheel drive on this vehicle. So, I am not familiar with unusal sounds when driving. Also, when I drove it the first few days it didn't make these sounds nor did it slip but now is making noise and sliding around
Some is typical and some could be sign of worn u joints Have u joints inspected for loosness When in 4 wheel drive the front and read tires compete with eachother especially when turning causing a hopping or chirping. U joints are under alot of stress in tight turns and might make nois as well again check to see if worn and at the same time lube them if equiped with fittings
