each wiper arm has a nut at the base holding it on, make sure they are tight or it will just spin if they are loose, shut off the wipers and move the arms back to the bottom and tighten the nuts if nuts are tight check the linkage that hooks to the motor, it may have popped off
Hyundai started using plastic washers to hold down wiper arms. This is to prevent damage to the wiper transmission in cases where the wipers are either frozen to the windshield or trying to push too much snow/ice. To remove the wiper arm, you will need to locate the washer and remove it first. Chances are the washer will be the only part you need to replace.
This could be a couple differant things, First it could be in the linkage that operates the wiper arms. these are located under the cowl of the car. they will be the bars that connect the wiper motor to the wipers. It could also be in the wiper motor it self id the gears in the unit have broken it will also cause this issue.
Turn on key & wipers--try to move wiper arms--not real hard--may break something--sometimes wipers will start moving.Next--have motor tested--then check for fuse, fusible link, or circuit breaker--depends on make of car. If fuse--replace--if other take to qualified mechanic.
either linkage broke/ jammed or motor is stuck -makin noise but not movin open hood and with wiper on feel motor- its on firewall-for movement if moving turn off motor now try to move wipers if move freely than they are broken off or have disconnected from the motor need to remove the cowl to access the wipers linkages
give the mottor a few taps and spray wd40 in it if you can it releases things thats stuck. also make sure all movable parts are moving freeely. sounds silly but can catch on things. cables are not squashed and the like.
yes you can simple problem to fix there are rodes that connect the two wipers together with a rocker arm it has com loose from the moter there are screws under the hood holding a panel closet to your winshild and there are screws in the panel out side the hood you will need to remove the windshild wipers to remove this panel once it is off you will see what i'm telling you
