Problems with electric door lock & heat/ac flow direction control

I started having problems with the electric door lock (controlling from driver side) sometimes it will unlock or lock the other doors, other times it won't. Around the same time the control that directs the flow of heat/ac from floor, to vent , to defrost etc quit working. Do both of these work on a vacuum system? Could the problem of the two be connected some how? How do I go about repairing them? Thank You, Rick

Not vacuum system - electrical motors move the vent doors. Without looking at the vehicle myself, the possible causes are numerous (although you mentioned you've already checked the fuses), this sounds like a fuse. Anyway, go to www.hmaservice.com and register vehicle by VIN #. You'll then have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle.

SOURCE: Lost vacuum at defrost & vent & floor control.

It does not hook to throttle body , it hooks to a vacumn port on the intake manifold. Follow hose from cruise control module to the tee-three-way connector on firewall. Over time the tee will fall apart and will leak One hose goes to the vacumn port, one to cruise module, one to ac contols.

SOURCE: no air flow from ip vents.

There is either a problem with vacuum to a actuator for the blend doors or a vacuum problem to the a/c programmer. It is also possible that the a/c programmer "control head" is bad.

Why does My thermostat Not switch between ac,heat, defrost . there's cold air coming out of vents but not cold enough to be ac. Initially when this started the ac was blowing hot air

If the air flow cannot be controlled from vent/defrost/floor you may have a blend door issue. This is an electric motor that operates a door in the heating system to control airflow. There are usually 3 motors controlling airflow direction, heat and recirculation. The Ac not blowing cold may also be another problem. If the AC is operational, the compressor will be engaged and the Ac low pressure line under the hood will bw cold. If this is all ok then a blend door issue should be suspected

Climate control switch don't work to change on defrost or floor or feet

Your AC switch is off. Anyway if the AC switch is on and the climate control is not flowing the cool or heat to any of the sides then it means that the AC nozzle is leaking and the pressure is just working into straight direction instead distributing to the switched position. It's a mechanical problem and not electrical at all

Ac does not blow out panel vents or floor vents its stuck on defrost,

Usually a sign of a blend door problem under the dash. Years ago the direction of air flow was controlled by vac, now its controlled by small electric motors on the vent doors. Could be a blend door motor or a problem with the controller.

Heating, AC and vent problem

The actuator door that is behind the dash that closes off the heater core from shooting hot air thru the vents might be your problem. When you turn on your ac the actuator shuts the door to prevent the air from flowing thru the heater core into the cabin, this may be your problem if everything else is working properly. Let us know.

Heat comes thru driver's side vents, but blows cold air thru passenger side vents

You likely have a faulty blend door. It could be electrically, mechanically related, or even a broken door. It may be the blend door motor, or possibly the temp sensor.

Have a small amount of heat comming out of my 2002 montana van

Sounds like a blend door is not working.
The blend doors are controlled by small electric motors and direct air flow thru the heater and ac evaporator as well as the vents.
The blend doors would need to be checked for operation. Could also be an electrical problem elsewhere in the system or a blockage in the heater hoses.

Air blend door jeep liberty 2010

My blend air door is stuck on my 2010 liberty. I have removed the actuator panel on the drivers side and the middle door that controls the air flow to the dash is completely seized. There are 4 blend air doors on this liberty, 2 control the heat/ac and 2 control the air flow.
there is no access to them from the drivers side and the passanger side looks like I have to cut into the air box to get to them.

Heat does not come out passenger side of the car but comes out drivers side

There is a blend door problem.

---
prev.gif next.gif HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING Refer to Section 1 for discharging and charging of the air conditioning system. The heating system provides heating, ventilation and defrosting for the windshield and side windows. The heater core is a heat exchanger supplied with coolant from the engine cooling system. Temperature is controlled by the temperature valve which moves an air door that directs air flow through the heater core for more heat or bypasses the heater core for less heat. Vacuum actuators control the mode doors which direct air flow to the outlet ducts. The mode selector on the control panel directs engine vacuum to the actuators. The position of the mode doors determines whether air flows from the floor, panel, defrost or panel and defrost ducts (bi-level mode).

2003 buick lesabre AC problem

You have to find the motor that controls the blend door and open it manually to find out which one is bad there are 3 blend doors on the HV/AC system one will be where the heater core is. The other will be between the vented air and AC? heating system then the third door will operate vents in dash and defrost condition. If you have someone operate them AC system heating system and watch the blend door motors, the one you find not moving will be the one that has the problem. They have vacuum and electrical motors, if it is a acuum motor you can move the door manually with your hand, if it's electric you will have to disconnect the rod by removing the pinch clip off of the rod.

Heater working improperly

Check the actuator motors on the heater, there is two one for passenger and one for driver side. They allow the air to be directed from the heater or ac.
