Transmission slipping Been driving a 79 Cordoba (v8 auto) around 80 miles daily several years and now it drives fine for maybe 2 miles before loosing all power from transmission (both forward and reverse). Transmission has been serviced regularly with last service less than a year ago. Fluid looks and smells clean and is not low (or high). One other note, I can turn the engine off and restart and go again for a short distance. Thanks for your help!

SOURCE: trans goes in drive for a minute then slips

You may wanna try replacing the soleniod pack mounted on the front of the transmission.U may have to purchase it at a local dealer or napa.If that does not repair your issue you may have to install a used transmission.

But I am afraid I can't tell you want all these codes mean for your car. It was probably not related to the change in fluid that was performed. However, it is serious and should not be driven until fixed. Risk of total destruction of the transmission is too great. I would assume the symptoms are so diverse that it may be a bad transmission control module. Which is about $200, and fairly easy to replace:

But there are other possibilities, such as a bad relief valve could be letting main pressure drop too low.
This is the type of thing which does require an expert and can't easily be done remotely.

SOURCE: I have a 1997 Concorde,

the mystery of Chrysler transmissions...if fluid levels are good, make certain you have good electrical connections, especially grounds-your electric system is good, I assume-12.5 + volts resting, 14+ volts running at the battery AND the back large post of the alternator?

If so, try disconnecting the battery (clean terminals while you are there, both the battery posts and the inside of the lugs) for a few minutes like 5+, then hook it back up and start it up, let it idle for a few minutes, then drive it gently-adaptive memory of Chrysler ECM's get confused sometimes-hope this helps.

Testimonial: "I installed a new battery back in Dec. so the battery terminals should be clean, but I will recheck them and the alt. terminal. Thanks!"

Slips only in first gear. the transmission fluid was changed one month ago and the levels were correct today. Any suggestions?

ok is that an auto or a stick??????????????????????????
if you'd have stated the fluid type.,we'd not need to guess that.
ill now guess, auto, running ATF fluid.
slips is bad news, if the fluid levels are correct, done the correct way, not guessing or doing it like any engine oil checks.!
do you know how? and not over fill it. causing aeration of the ATF and trans damage? and slip....

if it slipping in what Reverse or DRIVE or L or 2 on the selector>?
you didnt say where the shifter was...?????????
if a stick shift the clutch is bad.
is the clutch master cylinder level hold at the top line , not droppind daily or weekly?

what if the A/T box shifter cable is loose. and you are not really in gear.

is it 4wd?, did kid bump the 4wd selector to N?

yet another post about drive lines and the options on the drive line unstated..
