I have no idea. You might want to just take it to a Jeep dealer to get it checked out. Or you could disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then hook it up again, and see if the message goes away or not.

I need help with a code 12 for. 95 grand Cherokee orvis 5.2l. In need of some help. I know what the code says, but don't understand what it means.

A code 12 just means that memory to the controller has been cleared within 50-100 engine starts, which can occur whenever the battery terminals are disconnected, battery completely dies, etc. Nothing to worry about really, and it is NOT related to the thread that you found.
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/jeep-cherokee-help-error-code-12-a-1172243/

The codes you found indicate there are no stored trouble codes: Code 12 means that the battery or the computer power lead was disconnected sometime during the last 50 operating cycles. This is not an indication of a problem. Code 55 means that there are no other stored codes in the computer.

94/95 jeep 4 lt. Seem to have error code 12 followed by 55. Manual we have doesn't show 12 as an error code - any clues, please?

12 indicates that the battery has been disconnected recently. 55 shows the end of the code sequence.
Therefore, whatever problem you are having, it isn't generating a code.

My 95 grand cherokee says service 4wd switch is this a problem

The 4wd switch is the indicator that tells the VIC (vehicle information center) if you are in 4 low or 4 high. Have it replaced, but first check wiring, that more likely the wiring from the switch to the VIC is damaged.

Also,
you could have a vacuum leak which would enable the transfer case to not recognize that the switch has been activated.

My 1994 4 wheel drive will not lock up

Jeeps, mainly the YJ from 86-95 had cable driven lockers that when you placed the lever on any 4 wheel drive setting, automatically locked the hubs. Just awsome. If it is not locking, check the cable where it meets the hub and the selector lever to make sure it is attached. Have a buddy move the selector from 4H to N while you check the cable for movement. If it is attached and does not move, it is broken and needs to be replaced.

95 Grand Cherokee center column data screen resets after shut off

I had the same problem with my 1995 grand cherokee. I had to remove the message center and resolder the connections where the plugs go into the back of it. Not hard to do if you are used to soldering small connections, if not, take it out and bring it to someone who is, like a tv repair shop.
