Yes you can. You will have to go and buy a generic code reader from any parts store. They range in price so I'd buy a mid range scanner. If the vehicle is drivable you can just go to one of the parts houses and ask them to scan it for you. They usually do this for free. After you have it scanned get back with me and I'll let you know the best direction to go in.

When i drive the car the check eng light comes on then in a bit it will go out I check for code's but there's no code's?

You can only check the code whilst the light is on. Leave the code reader plugged in. When the light comes on, pull over if safe to do so and read the code reader.

I had a similar thing on my Lexus. It was a thermostat sensor that was telling the engine stayed hotter than it should for a while until the thermostat opened.

Subaru check engine light

No,the light is due to emissions being out of spec.
Mast parts stores will plug their code reader into it for free and tell
you what the problem is.

I have a 97 ford Taurus I went through a few puddles going 40+ they were kinda deep after I drove away my car turned off then I wait like 15 mins it started after a few try's drove it around went home...

Its probably ok. You may have caused the crank sensor to stop working.
If the check engine light is on I would have the computer checked for trouble codes.

Check Engine Light On, Accompanied by the Gas Cap Warning Light

I'm not sure what you mean by "kick". But the gas cap light will not affect the performance of the engine or transmission.
I would recommend having the computer scanned for trouble codes next.
The gas cap light means the computer has found a vac leak in the venting system for the gas tank and it could be allowing fumes into the air. The most common reason is the gas cap has been left off or is not tight. But if you have replaced it the problem is elsewhere in the venting system. The trouble code stored for the check engine light would point a mechanic in the direction of the actual problem.

Check engine light with oil light came on

The oil light means the engine oil pressure is below 10psi.
Could be a faulty switch, or it could actually be low oil pressure.
I would not drive at at highway speeds until you get it checked out.
Most auto parts stores will scan the computer for trouble codes for free in hopes of selling you some parts. The code or codes will point you in the direction of the problem with the check engine light.

Not sure of the code #'s you mention, where (or how) did you get them? You need to be sure of what codes are stored in the cars computer. Check with a local parts store, if you can't drive it to them to scan for codes, the stores in my area will allow you to take a scan tool home ( with a charge card that won't be billed unless you don't return it). They can give you directions on how to use it, what the codes mean, and what recommendations they have to fix the problem. If you have any other questions, you can post them here with the code #';s Good luck.

2003 VW Jetta TDI Check Engine Light Issue

Try disconnecting the battery (unhook on of the terminals) wait for like 15 mins, hook the terminal once again and start the car. I also own a 2003 Jetta and once my engine light would come on after 2 mins of driving. Disconnecting the battery is like resetting the computer and hopefully the sensor.
