1993 gm 3800 left bank disconnecting of plug wire and injection connector does not change idle, appears left bank is not working.. Compression good...

Did you test for spark? I would check spark and fuel pressure. OK, here's a little bit of working theory that'll help you to see the ‘why’ of the Noid light test.

Whether you're testing a No Start Condition or a Misfire Condition, you'll need to know if the cause of the problem is a lack of fuel. When your GM 3.8L (Buick, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac) does not start, it will be either because of a lack of fuel or spark. The same thing goes for when your GM 3.8L equipped car or mini-van is misfiring... that specific engine cylinder isn't contributing to engine power because it either lacks fuel or spark.

Now, since the above two conditions (No Start and Misfire) can be caused by any number of things... one of the things that has to be eliminated, from this list of possibles, is the fuel injector not getting power or the injector pulse signal (On/Off switching signal) from the vehicle's Computer.

This is where the fuel injector Noid light test comes in handy, because you're able to visually see if both of these signals are present or not. If no flashes, then now you know that you have to verify that the connector is getting power (12 Volts) and the injector pulse signal.

One thing to keep in mind, is that the fuel injector Noid light test does not test for a BAD fuel injector. But, is the first step in verifying if the fuel injector is BAD or not. For the fuel injector test tutorial.

you said pulse, does that mean fuel pulse or electronic pulse to injector coil..... ? all injectors dead. or just 1. same for spark.
toss coin land, noid dead. all noids
loss of. NOID signals.!

I have a 89 rs camaro with the 5.0l can anybody offer suggestions on what the possible fuel system issues are with year and model? I've changed the fuel and air filters rebuilt tbi ran fuel system cl

check fuel pressure TBI injection fuel pressure should be 9 - 13 psi.make sure fuel pressure above 10 psi because throttle body need at least 10 psi. in order to work right.if all is good check see if PCM firing the fuel injectors.go to auto parts store buy noid use noid light you have to disconnect fuel injector electrical connector then plug noid light into fuel injector connector.crank engine watch noid light should blink meaning PCM is firing fuel injectors if noid light steady not blinking PCM not working.if noid light dont light up you have open circuit in the fuel injectors wiring.if check engine light flashing have vechicle code scan.bad tps sensor will also cause problem you are having.

Trouble starting after warm have to turn over forever

this could very possible be a bad coil , or a bad fuel injector, check the coil to see if you see any cracks in it , in which it would be jumping fire, or it could be a bad fuel injector, you can check each fuel injector, by taking a mechanics stethoscope, and putting the probe to each injector 1 at a time, and have someone crank the engine over to see if you hear a clicking sound coming from the injectors, the one that has the weakest sound or no sound is the bad one . also, you can disconnect each injector wiring connector, 1 at a time, and hook up a noid light to each injector wiring connection, and then turn on the ignition key, but do not start the vehichle, this will show you if there is current coming from the wiring connection to the injector, you can purchase the noid lights at a auto part store. hope that this information has been helpful to you.

Gmc jimmy 2000 will crank but will not start what could be the promblem

does the word security stays flashing after you crank the engine? if it does vehicle has a problem with the passlock 2 system which is a factory installed anti-theft system. when faulty which is too common on those year GM models, vehicle will start and run for 2 or 3 seconds and die out. follow this procedure: 1) locate yellow 20ga. wire running out of steering column which will run along with heavier gauge wires. correct wire will be thin compared to the main ignition wires. 2) cut wire and connect an in line toggle switch and leave in on position. 3) put key in ignition and move forward and leave it that way for approximate 15 min. or until security light goes out. 4) as soon as light goes out vehicle should start. if it does not crank engine again until it starts. 5). when engine starts flip toggle switch to the off position then security light will come on. done. passlock system is bypassed. security light will stay on constant but vehicle will no longer leave you stranded.

Does 1990 Oldsmobile Regency have a ccold start injector?

no this engine doesn't use a cold start injector, only early fuel injection systems (Bosch K jetronic) used this part, this is a "L" jetronic system.

1987 cressida missing

Start with testing the injectors for pulse. Get a NOID light they sell the at almost any auto parts store remove in get plug from injector and plug the noid light into plug look for constant steady (pulse)lighting of noid light. Check all six injector on your strait 6. If all is good remove parke plug wire on at a time from cap and look for increased shaking and less when it replaced(Make sure to use wire puller with rubber insulation to avoid being zapped by spark from coil) Note cylinder with no difference or change when wire is removed. Those would be the problem cylinders. Then get a compression guage and check all cylinders for compression by removing spark plugs and attaching guage to each cylinders, make a not of each cylinder's reading. NOTE THEY SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN 10 PSI difference in cylinders. Make note of low compression cylinders if any. If compression is good all around spark plugs are good, good ignition wires and you have good pulse pattern from you noid light. The only other problem is BAD INJECTORS and those would be the ones that didn't change when you took off the wires. I have work on these old cressida alot my self. Good Luck contact me if you need more help and if I solve your problem leave me a FIX-YA comment.
