Hi, Have a diagnostic scan done and also a mechanical error trace ,
the solution to the problem could be the CKP crankshaft position sensor or a wiring related issue, it could also be the fuel pump , the pump relay , engine management actuator . In order for your engine to start it requires the following:
Compression
Fuel pressure and volume
A proper spark
Correct valve timing and ignition timing
A decent battery vitally important as all engine management relies on it.
Hope this helps a bit
Regards Higgins.

My Astra 1.6 twinport convertible 56 plate has has a jammed boot, how can I open it

ok i know you dont wanna hear this but you going to have to climb into the boot. lay the back seat down and it should reveal a way into your boot. take a torch!
now the boot lid should have a panel. under that panel are the links and the lock and you should be able to manually open it.if you find the right link to pull but it takes alot of force to move. get someone to push down on the boot from outside. otherwise you mite bend or break plastic securing clips. good luck

Car wont start with key but will start with push

Sounds like your Battery is on the way out friend, and not turning the engine over fast enough. A push start always turns the engine fast.via the gears.
New Battery Time !!!!! Save getting puffed out pushing.

How to replace the crank sensor?

opel. 1.6L

if the PCM scans ,cranking for 5 long seconds , does NOT throw
CKP sensor bad DTC errors, id bet its good.
why not trust the PCM to see those missiong pulses and tell you;.
call EFI gas cars do this. and do it well.
the crank sensor on all engine can be in 3 spots.
front,. rear and middle of crank.
a fast look finds this easy.
did you even look?

1.6L dont say much. there are 7 , 1.6L opal engines.
SOHC and DOHC.
Z16SE/X16SE 62 (5400)/138 (2600) Z16XE/X16XE 74 (6000)/150 (3600) Z16XEP/X16XEP 76 (6000)/147 (3600)
if hell bent on swapping it out, why not buy one, ?
they will ask you engine exact name(above) or VIN and sell it to you
then look at the connector, id bet you can find it , on the engine now
with knowing the pin count and shape.
no?
on some harder cars, FWD, the sensor takes removing the transmission to see the sensor. bolted where not easy to change.
that is why we do the tests. first. not guess.
got a scan tool ?do the tests. ask.

wild guessing see the gold looking sensor. this might be it.

I have a 2000 opel astra, serviced starter ,fitted again, now car start but switch off again, and then wont start immidiate again, please help

Sounds like the wires may not be hooked correctly on the starter; maybe one was left off. Or you may have blown the fuseable link in the cable. Check all the connections to verify they are correct, then verify there is power reaching the starter to verify the fuseable link isn't blown.
