Gear box oil filler plug - kia rio

Hi. just wondering where you put gear box oil into a 2004 Kia Rio. Accidently drained it and am unable to locate its position.

You have to take off the speedometer cable/wiring harness from the top of the trans and fill it from there....one 10mm bolt...very awkward spot...it might be snug, so just take a flat head screwdriver from underneath to tap it loose...

they can hold 4to 5, when the oil is at the bottom of the fill hole the trans is full.

If you are unable to get the shifter to go into hear, the most likely problem is a bad clutch. Have the clutch hydraulics checked as well as the release bearing.

Can not get the oil filler nut back on the gearbox of my Kia Rio sport 1300


that was not the filler hole that was the reverse idler pin you may have to do a partial tear down to install the pin probably split the case at least

just under your gear stick is the gear box inside the bos are the gears flooded in lubrication ( vulvalien) oil and to reach it get under car or prt it over lift and open the small level check / refill hole thumb up

im not aware of any manual cars that dont run the gearbox and the engine on the same oil.

I have a 2004 Kia Rio and you have to take off the speedometer cable/wiring harness from the top of the trans and fill it from there...the drain plug/bolt is underneath the trans from there...

I have a 2004 Kia Rio and it is very difficult to get it into first and second gear especially when i fist start the car, it gets better after driving for a bit. What should I do?


it might be that your gear oil needs to be changed..it is supposed to be changed every 96,000kms or every 48 months...which ever comes first....
