Heat comes out barley out the defrost but blows out at your feet why would that be

heat,? and no year? wow.
you didnt say, its it fully hot in any mode?
is the heat 100% fully hot at feet. my cars will drive you out of car in no time flat , on full heat. but id dont live in the YUKON
were are you Nunavut or key west?

but your defrost damper is bad.

once the core is fully hot, and fan at max
all that remains is damper. depends on year, but a filter. in newer cars can clog.
there is a fresh air recirc, that mixes in fresh air, aiding defrost as does A/C ops. all this is the dampers (flappers)

some cars are call cable driven , they are easy to check.
if the cable end is dead, bingo, so will be its damper.
just like a kids bike, bad cable, no brakes. it works just like kids bike.

or some cars have this very complex vacuum system.
if your car has that, then read the manual. FSM
or alldata.com. at anythim..

Tips for operating Air conditioning system on Toyota Hilux and someother...

To cool off your Toyota after it has been parked in the hot sun, drive with the windows open for a few minutes. This vents the hot air, allowing the air conditioning to cool the interior more quickly.

Make sure the air intake grilles in front of the windshield are not blocked (by leaves or snow, for example).

On humid, do not blow cold air on the windshield. The windshield could fog up because of the difference in air temperature on the inside and outside of the windshield.

Keep the area under the front seats clear to allow air to circulate throughout the vehicle.

On cold days, set the fan speed to high for a minute to help clear the intake ducts of snow or moisture. This can reduce the amount of fogging on the windows.

When driving on dusty roads, close all windows. If dust thrown up b the vehicle is still drawn into the vehicle after closing the windows, it is recommended that the in intake be set to FRESH and the fan speed to any setting except "OFF".

If following another vehicle on a dusty road, or driving in windy and dusty conditions, it is recommended that the air intake be temporarily set to RECIRCULATE, which will close off the outside passage and prevent outside air and dust from entering the vehicle interior.

HEATING

For best results, set controls to;
Fan speed ---- Any setting except "OFF"
Temperature----Towards WARM (red zone)
Air intake ---- FRESH (outside air)
Air flow ---- FLOOR
Air conditioning ---- OFF

For quick heating, select recirculated air for a few minutes. To keep the windows from fogging, select fresh after the vehicle has been warmed.

Press the "A/C" button on for dehumidified heating.

Choose floor/windshield air flow to heat the voltage interior while defrosting or defogging the windshield.

AIR CONDITIONING

For best results, set controls to;

Fan speed --- Any setting except 'OFF"
Temperature --- Towards COLD (blue zone)
Air intake --- (outside air)
Air flow --- PANEL
Air conditioning --- ON

For quick cooling, move the air intake selector to recirculate for a few minutes.

VENTILATION

For best results, set controls to;

Fan speed --- Any setting except 'OFF"
Temperature --- Towards COLD (blue zone)
Air intake --- (outside air)
Air flow --- PANEL
Air conditioning --- ON

DEFOGGING

The inside of the windshield

For best results, set controls to:

Fan speed --- Any setting except 'OFF"
Temperature --- Towards WARM (red zone) to heat; COLD (blue zone) to cool
Air intake --- FRESH (outside air)
Air flow --- WINDSHIELD
Air conditioning --- ON

The outside of the windshield

For best results, set controls to:

Fan speed --- Any setting except 'OFF"
Temperature --- Towards WARM (red zone)
Air intake --- FRESH (outside air)
Air flow --- WINDSHIELD
Air conditioning --- OFF

On humid days, do not blow cold air on the windshield. The windshield could fog up because of the difference in air temperature on the inside and outside of the windshield.

DEFROSTING

The outside of the windshield

For best results, set controls to:

Fan speed --- Any setting except 'OFF"
Temperature --- Towards WARM (red zone)
Air intake --- FRESH (outside air)
Air flow --- WINDSHIELD
Air conditioning --- OFF

To heat the vehicle interior while defrosting the windshield, choose floor/windshield air flow.

195 Honda Accord front window will not defrost, hot air is coming out of vent

defrost or defog?
there are 3 things that must work to get defrost
1: heat (bingo)
2: fresh air ,never use recirc mode or it will fog up.
3: A/C works, the A/C will DEFOG.
now pure Defrost/
I must assume you mean the outside of the glass? yes.
then all it takes is heat. and time.
if the engine thermostat (coolant) is not above 180F then it will fail..

I have a 97 chevy k2500 the fan works, heat and ac works, the floor vents and dash vents work but cant get any air to blow out of the defrost vents. help i have replaced the control panel, still have...

Your vehicle uses electronically controlled blend doors to direct th air flow from defrost to vent and to the floor . If the door motor is bad then it will stay at a fixed position so you will not get the air to flow out the defrost ducts. There are at least two of these one for air blend and one for fresh air. They are located on the passenger side usually under the plastic cover and have a wire harness that plug in and are usually shaped like a piece of pie.

Heating / air conditioning control stuck to front defrost vents

There is a vacuum leak under the hood. Find the vacuum line on the passenger side where it comes through the firewall and follow it to the engine. You system needs vacuum to operate and without it the default setting is on defrost for safety reasons.

2000 pontiac montana heat issues

Try checking the cabin air filter, if equiped. It may be clogged making it draw more cold fresh air. Check your owner's manual to see if you have one or not, and it's location.
