this van has been a total piece of **** since I bought it with just 100,000 miles on it, had it a week and the pressurized fuel lines blew costing me $600 then the NEXT DAY the brakes went out, less than a week later it started over heating and we changed the water pump...then the thermostat, still overheating, and now I'm told it's the HEAD GASKETS. Someone help, what a crock!!! It's such a lemon and now I'm just stranded, out of money and making payments on this thing!

Gas Gauge fluctuates, Overheating even with enough antifreeze & Heater blowing freezing cold air.

GAS GAGE IS EITHER A BAD SENDING UNIT OR "SLOSH MODULE" IF A FORD. HEAT ISSUE IS A VACUUM LOCK IN THE COOLING SYSTEM AND NOT ALLOWING THE AIR TO ESCAPE AND NO WATER TO CIRCULATE.CHECK FOR LEAKS ,THE THERMOSTAT,AND WATER PUMP FOR PROPER CIRCULATION

Please help. I have a 1996 Cadillac deville v8 northstar. My question is what is the cause of overheating. Symptoms. 1. White smoke out of the tail pipes. 2. No loss of hp. 3. No loss of coolant unless...

to check for leaks go to an accredited radiator shop and have a pressure test done --check that there are no air locks in the system
the transmission could be the problem as the transmission oil cooler is in one of the radiator tanks
when idling there is no torque in the transmission but when travelling the transmission is under load
IT might be advisable to go to an accredited auto transmission shop
have an oil change done and have the bands and clutch packs adjusted
the pan has to come off to do that and if there is a problem in the transmission , there will be signs in the transmission pan

99 Firebird still overheating after repairs and antifreeze

overheating is most likely a bad thermostat, but the coolant loss is a second big concern. Does the exhaust look like steam? You could have a cracked block and the coolant is leaking into the engine. Also check the oil for contamination.

Car is overheating but heat does not work... leaks water/antifreeze Oldsmobile Omega 1984

Your thermostat is probably stuck and needs to be changed. I assume when you say it leaks you are speaking of when it overheats it leaks out the overfill tank is that correct?

My 01 grand am gt is overheating the cars heat will only blow cold air and alot of thick white smoke comes out of the exaust

White smoke is a sign of burining antifreeze. When heater is not blowing warm air, that is a sign of faulty heater core.
No power, coolant loss, overheating, is sign of headgasket leak.
Double check your thermostat as well.

Over heating 1988 jeep comanche

You'll need to find out if the system is overheating and that is causing the the antifreeze to blow-over. If it was the head-gasket it usually would blow-over as soon as you started it up. But you say it happens after ten minutes of running. Sounds like the antifreeze isnt circulating. You'll need to check the cooling components one by one. Hoses, thermostat, radiator, water-pump.
