Question about Mitsubishi Cargo

Car loses power and stalls

I have a 1982 corolla that has been modified to run on unleaded fuel. Recently on the highway I suddenly lost power and pulled off to the side of the road. I could start it and it would run for a bit and then stall. This happened repeatedly and then, suddenly it started working again. It worked fine for a coupel of weeks and then it just repeated the same problem again today. What's wrong?

Sounds like it is starving for fuel. change the fuel filter. May have trash clogging it up. If problem still continues check your plugs for spark when it dies and wont crank. This would lead to bad coil or ignition module.

Why did my car stall on highway, lose all power, than would not start up again

Could be many reasons. Any codes set? Run tests--spark to plugs? Correct fuel pressure?

Car runs perfect then starts missing real bad then stalls

Not unusual for fuel pumps to begin to fail once they are heated up from running. First thing in the morning pump is cool, then as you drive, it heats up and begins to lose pressure. After sitting a 1/2hr-1hr, it may start again and run fine for a short time and start to act up again. Had similar problem and found good fuel pressure when tank and pump cool, but lost pressure once vehicle driven a distance and pump heated up. The hotter the weather, the shorter the distance I could drive. If you can somehow set it up to have fuel pressure checked when it starts to act up, that would certainly help confirm if fuel pressure is the culprit.

97 lumina, 3.1. Starts runs smooth, drive for 30

I just recently have been fighting the same problem with the same make/model/year vehicle. For myself, I would drive off and on through the day and it would run fine. Then suddenly after a start it would run rough and die. I would have to wait 20 to 60 mins before it would start again. I had it checked and fuel pump was only putting out around 19 psi. It should be around 41 psi. Had fuel pump replaced and no more problems. Furthermore, now it runs so much better. It's funny how over time I didn't notice how the performance was slowly degrading. Unfortunaley fuel pumps for this car run around $300.

Hi, I keep losing power and stalling when I'm driving and it almost feels like I am running out of gas. The car will just refuse to start again or start and lose power after a short spell. Then, magically...

First check the gas cap for venting. Toyo are known to create a vaccum on the gas tank. Second, has the gas filter been changed. 3rd, Check the timing gear on the crank shaft. the key slot tends to wear throwing the timing out. If there is any play in the crank shaft pulley it is a good sign. Good Luck
