Change the front disc brake pads on 01 chevy blazer 2WD with ABS

I was wondering if I could do the job myself, I have all the tools. What are the pros and cons of doing it myself etc? Would really like to learn how without trashing my brakes in the process.

How do I change rear brake pads on a 2007 Mercury Mariner

Rear disc & pad work is no different than any
on the front of vehicle

The only difference is you need a small tool
that is about $9.00 to turn the parking brake
adjuster in while pushing in the caliper piston

On the front you use one old pad & a large
C clamp
On the rear only push by hand as you turn the piston
clockwise. Two functions in one
Open the bleeder valve helps

I do hope but don't expect that you know that brake
fluid gets flushed every 2 years on all vehicles

I will add Power Steering & Transmission Fluids
every 3 years & not more than 30,000 miles EVER

If you don't you will have expensive ABS problems,
the steering rack will fail, as will your trans

No one on this site but me provides an education
The pros may not appreciate my comments but
the auto repair industry has zero chance in my
opinion, of ever dealing effectively with the motoring
public

Just changed rear disc pads and one caliper on 2001 Chevy Blazer...now rear brakes are not working at all...fluid is in lines as it comes out when bleeding...help!

the problem here is in order to bleed the brakes properly u need to have a special tool to open up the ABS high pressure pop-it valves, this special tool will be avail at the dealer or in a generic form at any well equiped front end shop, u just can't bleed the brakes without it, I see this same posted problem over and over, this information is correct, u will need a shop to bleed the brakes

You Can probably accomplish this yourself if you have a brake pad warning light or ABS/ASC light on you may need a BMW tech to reset the system to complete the job.

2006 chevy silverado 1500 front brakes are squeeking

on disc brakes there is a metal marker on them that when the pads get low on material it will make a squeeling noise to let you know its time to change the pads.. so I would say you are in need of front pads also even though they look good you are getting low.. this marker is designed to let you know its time before you get to metal to metal .. jerry

ABS BRAKE LAMP STAYS ON-1996 Chevy Blazer

If you havent hooked a dagnostic machine up to it you need to and write down the code. any automotive place can tell you what the code means. if you have fixed the problem the code simply needs to be deleted, any automotie place can delete it for you, but reading and deleting abs codes requires an abs diagnostic tool only, A normal diagnostic tool will not work. I hope this helps you out.
