2005 Ram 1500: Removing headlight unit.

I want to removed the headlight unit on my Ram 1500. According to the owner's manual there are three bolts, two on the left, & one underneath on the lower right. I've removed them but while the unit is loose, it won't come out. It appears there is something else behind it that I cannot see & I'm afraid to fore it since most of it is plastic. Any ideas??? This is all an attempt to install brighter bulbs so that I can see at night. Thanks for the help, Bob

Hi my name is Allen!

If all you are doing is replacing the bulbs for brighter ones, then there is no need to remove the headlight assemblies. Just reach behind the headlight assembly and unplug the connector from the bulb then turn the locking nut and pull the bulb out of the light assembly and replace the other one.

For further asistance you may reach me at FixYa!

Whats the trick to removing 2005 buick terraza headlamp assembly, pull the pin and remove 1 screw and pull out assembly, how?????, doesnt come out, what is the trick

According to available repair information that I have, once you remove the pin and the bolt, you must then pull straight out (forward from the vehicle's perspective) to release the ball and socket clips. I would suggest steady but firm pressure, as it can be difficult to get these to release.

I've attached a picture for clarification. Hope this helps.1c0f043.gif

Can't get the three bolts that hold the hub assembly to the knuckle out on a 2005 dodge ram 1500

well when i can't get a bolt out and i'm minus an impact wrench, i soak it in penetrating oil, then i take propane to it and use a bigger breaker bar. you can also try an impact driver. an inexpensive one will cost $20-30. i don't know how much clearence you have but this tool is a manual device which has a 1/2 inch square drive to attach a socket and you strike it with a hammer to break the bolt free

Yes those are bolts. You remove those from the back side. This takes a while sometimes. If you can't get them by reverse alone, try hitting them with impact in forward for a hit or two to brake it loose a little. If the new hub comes with new bolts, don't be afarid to brake them. PS, after those bolts are removed, don't forget to remove the nut on the axle shaft. You may also need to use an air hammer to help remove old hub after bolts are removed.
