How to hook up the sirius stratus 5 radio in my 2008 rav4?

I have a SAT/AM button on my JBL stereo in my 2008 Rav4.
I have rec'd a sirius stratus 5 satellite radio as a gift this morning.
How do i connect it the easiest way without using the AUX option? Or do i have to use the AUX option and the SAT/AM button means nothing?

I have sirius installed in my 2008 RAV4 JBL system.
There is an adapter made by VAIS technologies that is called a soundlink. It comes with instructions for the connection. The Sirius radio is hidden in this installation, and is controlled by your JBL system. The antenna runs up the side of the windshield (hidden behind the plastic moulding) and mounts to the top right corner of the roof.

HOWEVER- you will not have the full funcionality of the Stratus 5 radio- which has more funtionality that the JBL system can control. Also, the Scrolling feature on the Stratus 5 screen does not work on the JBL display. . . you get the first 15 or so characters, with no scrolling.

I love having an integrated satelite radio in my car, but I do miss the better screen, and the pause feature I had on my sportster (in my old car). Good Luck.

Have 2004 Toyota RAV4....installed new double din stereo radio....unit powers on can change stations...indication that sound is coming through the radio but I get no sound

If your RAV4 originally had a JBL radio, the steering wheel has provisions for control of amplifier volume. The JBL also has a MUTE output which may be preventing the amplifier from turning on.

08 RAV 4 sound on radio only comes from passenger door no other speakers working no matter where you set fade or Blanche ?

If your RAV4 has the JBL system, the problem could be in the audio wiring between the radio and the separate amplifier or within the amplifier itself.

Remove radio

Replace the CD player. To pull the plastic baffle off the dashboard: Adjust the heating vents so they point downwards. Grab the plastic bar between the heating vents and the stereo. Pull. Remove the screws from the front of the mounting brackets. Pull out the crappy stereo. Unplug the antenna and the wiring harnesses. Transfer the mounting brackets to your new stereo. Cut off the big wiring harness (unless you're lucky enough to have a replacement stereo that accepts the same kind). Connect the wires to the wires on your new stereo's harness.
