car started smelling like antifreeze, started smoking real bad while driving cut off in the middle of driving. tried to restart, got it going, made it home and opened the hood and smoke was shooting out of the middle of the engine so much that i had filled the whole neighborhood. i let sit for a couple of days went back out and refilled it with coolant and it started right back up, people are telling me that it is either the intake or head gaskets.

There is a small heater hose on the pass side rear from the firewall(heater core) to the intake manifold. the plastic manifolds have a tendency to split where the hose fitting goes into the intake. If that is where it is leaking the manifold needs replacement.

Leaking coolant after radiator replacement

If you are talking about the reservoir that hose is the overflow hose.
Its possible the shop did not release all of the air pockets from the system and some coolant came out with the air bubbles.
The tank should be about half full hot and cold.

White smoke in exhaust 1999 lincoln after replacing intake manifold

Sounds like antifreeze leaking in to me. Ports at rear of intake are trick and easy to get that gasket mis-aligned. Hate to say it but when you take the intake back off I imagine the culprit will be obvious. Only other thing is that the intake wsa fine and you actually had a blown head gasket.

I have a 2004 Tahoe and noticed that when operating the heater function this morning, the air was cold. When I drove it for a bit, it started to get warm again. Also, noticed the temp. going over normal...

head gasket leak will act that way when an if it gets bad will smoke white exhaust.will also leak antifreeze into oil so watch oil an frequent oil changes might extend time but will ultimately need new headgasket to avoid damage to engine...think about repairing before damage 2engine.

The car keeps overheating, and there is an antifreeze leak somewhere towards the back of the engine. When I turn the car off it has a lot of smoke that comes from behind the back spark plugs. The car has...

You most likely have a broken heater hose I would not drive the car because you will possibly warp the head or crack the block. I would suggest that you have a mechanic shop take a look at it. It is dangerous for you to drive..you can blow the motor up

99 Sunfire Coolant keeps dumping

You need to find the source of the leak. it hasn't overheated yet because you keep catching it and re-filling. From your description, it sounds a lot like a bad water pump seal (part of pump) but without physically looking you can't be sure of that. when the pump seal begins to fail, internal pressure while running often will drive the seal tighter against the shaft stopping the leak. as pressure drops as the engine cools, the seal relaxes and permits seepage.
With time, that will change and it will leak all the time.

Dodge 318 overheating.

HI. It could possibly be the the thermostat is stuck shut. If thats the case when the vehicle warms up it will probably overheat all the time. The best way to tell is buy a new one and change it. They are usualy around $10.00 at any autoparts store. If you change it and it still overheats, it could be the waterpump.
