I cannot seem to find the engine cooling temp sensor on a 2007 buick rendezvous

Hi Julia , why do you believe you need to find the temp sensor ? Temp gauge not working ? The cooling Temp sensor is a input to the PCM / ECM - engine computer .
Engine Coolant Temperature Gage
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the engine coolant temperature (ECT) as determined by the powertrain control module (PCM) or the powertrain control module (PCM). The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the ECT. The range on the ECT gage is between 60-125°C (140-260°F). The ECT gage defaults to 60°C (140°F) or below if the PCM detects a malfunction in the ECT sensor circuit. Refer to Cooling System Description and Operation .
Would have DTC- diagnostic trouble code stored in Instrument cluster or the check engine light would be on . Before replacing a part you may not need take it to a qualified repair shop to have it diagnosed .

Pete, it is the tendency of an old oil pump to pump weaker as it warms up, pump screen or tube could also be plugging. Could be a faulty gage, maybe try a different gage to verify pump could be wearing/weak.

I own a 01 vw passat and my temp gage only works once in awhile and my heat also works once in awhile! If the temp gage don't work will that make me not have heat?

You likely have air in the cooling system, and the air bubbles are in the heater core, which takes heat from the coolant and puts it in the cabin air.

I have put a post in about trying to get air out of the cooling system, but essentially, unscrew the 3 screws holding the coolant reservoir down, and lift up the corner that does not have tubes coming out of it so that it is standing on end. That will help get the air bubbles out. Then start the car and let it warm up for 3 to 5 minutes at idle so that the thermostat opens. That should accept a lot of coolant. Then keep adding coolant and standing the reservoir up until it doesn't accept any more.

Euc? Do you mean ecu, the computer? Don't think so. Something in the cluster, maybe the little voltage regulator on the back of the cluster. But if the engine light is flashing, definitely have it scanned for trouble codes, first, to see why the light is on. The light may indicate a poor link or connection with the cluster.

chances are the oil pressure sending unit is not working or unplugged it is located by the oil filter. the low level oil sensor is in the oil pan and is not related to the gauge .make sure to tell the parts person weather oil sending unit is for a gauge or a light

What is the check gauges light

CHECK GAGES light (1) indicates a potential engine failure(low oil pressure, low coolant, coolant overheating) has occurred.
· Check gages and shut down engine. Gages should read as follows: Oil pressure 5 to 10 psi (34 to 69 kPa) at idle; Water Temp gage below 230 degrees (110 C).
· Check engine oil level (Para 2-11) if OIL PRESS gage indicates low reading. Check coolant level (Para 2-11) if Water Temp gage indicates high reading. Notify Unit Maintenance if levels are low.

If CHECK ENGINE light (2) is on, check engine oil pressure gage (3) and water temperature gage (4). If both indicate normal, proceed with mission and then notify Unit Maintenance. If either one does not indicate normal, stop engine immediately and notify Unit Maintenance

No spark to plugs, oil pressure light on, engine died

Is your dash cluster working? If not this will cause the problem. The gas gage, temp gage, odometer, and transmission shift indicator will not light up. Give the dash a hard thump above the cluster this may or may not temporarily fix the problem.

Check the condition of the coolant.
If you have any indication of oil, the headgasket could be bad.
