Question about 2005 Ford F-150

Turn signals 2003 Ford F-150

When I turn either turn signal on the indicator light blinks on the dash correctly. The front turn signals operate properly, however both of the rear turn signals are flashing (just like 4 ways). Also - when I push the brake pedal the indicator light on the dash stops blinking and the turn signals stop blinking. Any help would be graetly appreciated!! Thanks.

Sounds like the turn blinker is shorted internally. Suggest you change it out, to test this.

My next check is that no wiring is melted and burned, such as can happen with any connection to tow a trailer. U-Haul has fine print that indemnify them of any problems they cause! have you towed anything recently?

replace the bulb with the correct one, sounds like you have a single filament bulb where a double filament bulb goes and it is back feeding power through the parking light system when you turn on the signal.

check the ground on the signal lamp. If the signal blinks rapidly that indicates an overload condition. a bad conection can cause and overload as the circuit tries to overcome the unkown resistance.

Brake light, reverse light and turn signal issues

Hello. The symptoms you are describing are likely due to a poor ground. Temporarily install a new ground wire by securing a piece of copper wire to the frame with a self tapping screw. Use this ground wire along with the hot wire to see if each of these lights works. If it does, trace the ground wire back to the frame, unscrew it and clean up the metal with emery cloth so you reestablish a good ground.
