Plugging after-market fog lamps in firewall of 2007 Sierra 1500

After installing the after-market fog lamps into the factory slots, I am in need of help knowing how to get past the firewall to plug the lamps into the electrical system. It does not appear that the wiring will be long enough to make the connection. Can anyone offer suggestions?

Usually there are some areas that have rubber boots for factory equipment/wiring to pass threw. Cut a small notch in the boot and pass your wire threw.

How do i turn my fog lights on? when i turn my lights on the foglights arent lit. is there a switch(that i couldnt find) on the interior of vehicle to turn them on?

Should be a separate switch on dash for fog lamps. Depending on factory, dealer or after market installation switch can be anywhere on dash, console or overhead console.

1998 cadillac catera fog lamps won't work fuses are ok

Fog lamps (factory and after market add-on) are control by a Bosch type relay.

Follow the wiring from one end (from lamps or power switch) you will see the relay.

The relay may be sitting off a socket. Check and clean the socket contacts.

Replace the relay if it's defective.

How to factory wire fog lights on a 2000 ford f150. pig tail, relay, and fuse are there. Only no wiring from fuse box.

This is a common problem on 97-00 MY trucks, regardless of the trim level ( XL, XLT, Lariat ).

If you install the fog lamp fuse in the BJB ( aka Battery Junction Box, Engine Compartment fuse panel ) Fuse # 9 ( 15 A fuse ) and jumper the normally open contacts in the fog lamp relay socket ( see diagram below ) the fog lamps should illuminate ( to confirm what you have doing on ).

The problem usually is the main headlamp switch to the BJB is not in place ( this is the yellow wire from the main headlamp switch connector to the relay socket pin #1 ).
One easy route is to make an aux lighting relay & harness, or purchase one online. With this, you can cut the factory ends and attach them to the harness you purchased. There is an air inlet next to where the steering wheel column runs through the firewall. This would give you an easy route to the fog lamp switch. The fog lamp switch, you can buy the factory one, and change the yellow wire from the connector to your added relay, or just add a switch for this function.
This will give you an idea of what the DIY relay and harness would look like.

Hope this helps, more than confuses at this point

Factory fog lights wont work

you can try unhooking the neg battery cable for about 5 minutes then rehook it. this will allow the instrument cluster to attempt to identify the fog lamps being there. if that dont work you may have to have the dealer go in and configure the modules to tell the computers they are there
