I poured CASTROL EDGE 5W-40 TURBO DESEL oil in the BMW 523i. Is this adequate oil for my gasoline engine

Yes, no problem, it's actually designed to support higher pressures than the gasoline engine oil so it will work even better in colder climates.

HI! I have a 2005 BMW 525i check engine light is on. Troubleshooting code is (P0011) Engine shaking very bad please help

Could be one of three things:

If the check engine light is coming on intermittently, it could be your gas. You should be using 91+ Octane Gasoline (put some octane boost to see if it smoothes out, it's about $4.00). You should be putting in Chevron/Shell/76 gasoline, not the ARCO/AM-PM gasoline. The top tier gas has additional cleaners.

Could be a bad coil not triggering one of the spark plugs.

Could be the camshaft position sensors.

Engine shaking

Its the crankshaft sensor. this sensor, when bad, will send mixed signals to the engine CPU that will through of timing dramatically. replace the sensor asap.

Shake problem

shaking while driving could be a problem with bad or very worn tires on the car or it could also be caused by the loss of a balancing weight from one of the tires. This problem could also be caused by a badly aligned front end on the car. I would take the car to a good front end repair shop and let them drive the car and determine what the problem might be.

Good Luck!
