Changed thermostat water pump and radiator on my 2001 Buick Century but still keep running hot...what else could be the problem???HELP PLEASE

Check to see if the radiator fan is on when the AC is on. The new thermostat may have a higher operating temperature than the old one. The thermostat could have been installed upside down. The gauge is defective and reading the wrong temperature.

How do i change a thermostat on a 2001 buick park avenue

follow your upper radiator hose to top of engine, find (2) bolts to remove ,your thermostat is located right under this, but bfore you start , purchase a new one, with anew gasket, remove the bolts, a little coolant will spill out, no big deal, clean off old gasket, put in new thermostat, just like the way the old one was, install gasket, replace rad hose w/bolts, that you should have cleaned the bolt threads, tighten bolts equally down, tight is tight, too tights broke. get it. good luck

How do you replace the water pump on a 2001 Buick Park Avenue

To get the water pump off the 3.1 l v6, first release the belt by releasing the belt tensioner. Remove the 4 10mm pulley bolts. Then remove the 6 8mm water pump bolts. Have a pan under the car to catch the coolant. Be sure no pressure in the system before you begin. Scrape off old gasket, and install new pump. Open cooling system bleeder screw which is located on the top of the pipe just above the water pump. Fill with coolant. After a few minutes the level will go down as the air comes out. Fill again until coolant comes out of the bleeder, then close it. Dont fill up to the top of radiator, as it will expand as it gets hot. After the thermostat open, then level will drop, then fill all the way and re-install cap. Thank you, hope it goes smooth, mike

I have a 1994 buick park ave. that is not getting enough heat

follow the top radiator hose from the radiator to the engine, the spout the hose hooks to on the engine is the thermostat housing, you unbolt it, pull the old thermostat out, clean the joining surface of the thermo housing and the engine block of debri (old gasket) install new thermostat making sure the spring mechanism on thermostat is installed towards the engine, put the new gasket in place and reinstall the thermostat housing.
