Question about 1996 Buick Park Avenue

1 Answer

1996 Buick Parkavenue blower moter operates on its own.

I was looking at the engine today when the blower came on by itself. It went on and then off, then on and then off. It did this for 3 or 4 minutes until I put the key in the ignition and started the car. I then turned the car off and it seems to have stop. Help?

1996 ParkAvenue Buick want crank turn the key makes no sound but everything comes on radio lights have checked starter, new battery fuses

GM cars are notorious for faulty anti theft security systems. When these fail, the car thinks its being stolen and shuts down the starter. Most noticeable symptoms are the car not starting, everything else still working, and a light illuminated on the dash that says "security". If you see this light when it doesn't start, then this is 100% your problem. Go to this link for info and ways to fix it yourself for cheaper. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

For 4.0L, inside the engine compartment, on the passenger side firewall, remove the coolant overflow bottle retaining strap remove the coolant overflow bottle and bracket. Unplug the blower motor. Remove the 3 blower motor bolts.Remove the blower motor. Remove the blower motor fan from the motor shaft for access to the motor attaching nuts. 1997 buick century - blower stays on when car is off

The blower motor relay is stuck, holding the curcit engauged. Look under the hood, find the conveinence center, where you will find fuses and relays (read the cover, see if one says AC/Heater blower relay), if not, look in your car's manual, to see where this relay is located. When you find it, pull it out, see if the moter stops, if ti does , replace it.
