Rotten egg smell after new plugs and wires seems to miss now
My son changed the plugs on my 2000 camry v6 toyota, 86,000 miles. He had some problem with the back plugs but got them in, then the cars check ingine light started blinking and the whole car smelled like rotten eggs....help!! He changed wires and I wonder if the firing order is right?

Did he gap the plugs properly? sulfur smell comes from excess fuel being dumped into the exhaust (catalytic converter). Could be the coil, or improperly gapped plugs. If the wires were out of order, there would be a misfire.

black smoke indicates that it is over fuelling, probably from a faulty injector
the eggs smell is hydrogen sulphide ( rotten egg gas) and is the cat converter doing its job ( same as new car exhaust smell)
if your exhaust smells like rotten eggs then yes ,,if not you need new coils and plugs/wires ..My thinking from what you stated is that you have a stopped up fuel filter and injectors need cleaned ..I am 90% sure of the later part
The rotten egg smell if it is coming from the exhaust is a very good sign that you catalytic converter has failed or is failing. but a bad or battery that is being overcharged can also make a rotten egg like smell.
