I would suspect coil trouble either the top of the coil is cracked or water is getting on to or into high tention wire leading from your coil to your distributor.hint ;on a damp night lift you bonnet start your car and look but do not touch at all high tention wires if there is a high tention problem you will see a blue ark jumping about if so there is your problem.adrian

Shows on Diagnostic machine that it's the distributor on a 1993 honda civic, used 2 different machines and it still won't start and its not the distributor. What can it be

to get to start you always need;good spark, fuel to plugs, compression to combust.
Do you have a spark at the spark plugs?
These distributors are common for faulty coils and ignitors. Also the dist cap give problems where the coil inside carries spark to the rotor center.Check also the rotor for cracks or center burnt out.I am assuming that this is the internal coil model distributor.
Also check for fuel as they have a common fault with dry joints on the board in the fuel pump relay.
I hope this helps.Get back to me with your test findings and we can get this solved for you.

How do you replace and align a new distributor in a 1993 honda civic with a 1.5 engine

With the cap off, turn the rotor until the distributor seats. It is a one way fit. Then you need a timing light to set the timing

How to repace distributor on 1988 honda civic. se

Remove the distributor cap and mark the distributor housing where the rotor is pointed to, and the distributor to where it goes into the head. Unplug the distributor, and remove the ditributor hold down bolts. Install the distributor with the rotor and distributor pointing to the marks made before removal.

My 83 Honda Civic won't start in the rain. Would changing the distributor cap mostly likely solve the problem?

The cap may help.......but there is more to the system that handles the high voltage.
In order of the most common trouble spots for wet no start.
First....ignition wire set..... 80%
2nd, I would change the ignition coil....10%
Then cap and rotor......10%

Why not change it all and have a dependable wet starting car.

here is a basic diagram. this is for an integra so it may not be the exact same as you have on your car but its basically the same thing.
