Question about 1996 Ford Taurus

Blows heat at low level but not at midium and high level.

I have ford taurus 96. The problem I have is I am not getting warm air when I set to medium or heigh level. I get warm air at low. At Medium and hiegh air is cool. can you suggest?

    Hi this past summer all the air was blowing in, was hot, now this winter all the air blowing in, is cold. I have a 1996 Ford Taurus never had a problem like this. Thanks, Bob from Bama

    I think I might be able to help you. Please do not vote for me or anyone else till you problem is solved. Have you checked you coolant level? also your vacuum heater valve?

I was wondering if your problem ever was solved? I think you should check your blower resister, this is a common problem!

Sounds like temp control valve is not working properly, or there is air in the cooling system, or the cooling sytem needs to be flushed. First thing to check for is air. Is the coolant level low? Also look in top of radiator while engine is cold and running to see if the coolant is moving and does it look dirty/sludgey.

It sounds like your blower motor resistor is bad. This should be located under the dash close ( within about a foot) of the actual blower motor

Some Ford products have a problem with particles cloging up the heater core. I would start with that.

Delayed or intermittent heat


after checking the heater core hoses they were both hot I went in to look at the blend door and noticed it wasn't moving on hot or cold so I simply disconnected the lincage and moved to hot and its working ok. but its not completely repaired
