AC issues My battery died and after replacing it the a/c will only blow through the passenger and rear dash vents. The driver's side vents are blowing hot air but not very hard. Cold air is also coming out of the defrost vents but not the floor vents. I took the #36 fuse out of the rear fuse box and waited 3 mins before putting it back and started my car. I let the car run for 2 mins before turning on the AC. When I turned the car on there were knocking noises coming from the dash and after waiting the 2 mins there were no changes. Its a 2002 trailblazer and I know this is a common problem but after reading alot about this no one has mentioned that their passenger and rear air work fine, its always people saying the cold air is only blowing through the defrost vents. Is my problem still the actuator?

The problem is either an actuator or the door associated with it. Sometimes the gear strips, especially when the system goes thru a recalibrate after power has been removed and reapplied. Below is a diagram of the locations of the actuators.

You need to replace the driver side temperature door control actuator. While doing this... make sure you bolt the new one in AND THEN PLUG IT IN or it will spin and not line up in the right place... then there is a series of crazy steps to fix that problem.

HVAC control head problem or it is the air Temp Control Valve problem. THe control head is the one with the buttons and knobs and the control vavle is located on the HVAC carrier assembly underneath dashboard (two of them one on left and one on right in center). This is a job for someone who has knowledge of HVAC and electrical on a GM vehicle.

SOURCE: Changed battery and now the A/C won't blow through dash vents

Set all HVAC control to off or CCW, disconnect battery for about 10 minutes. Reconnect battery and do not touch any HVAC controls for several minutes. The system will calibrate itself at this time. If this does not fix the problem, you have one or more actuators stuck or broken.

Having problems with the vents when the AC is running. Drivers side blows hot air / passenger side is cold.

You have actuators which direct the air in the heater/vent/AC system. My first cars used metal cables, then came along vacuum line control and most now use electric control actuators. They control things such as how much air from outside the car come inside, air flow to windshield/floor or dash, control mix of air for temperature adjustment. Your problem more than likely actuator issue. You can try google vehicle year, make, model temperature different from ac vent, when search you can change wording. If vehicle is older and used vacuum lines could have line leak, my 2000 GM van once had vacuum line laying on engine melted line and leaked. My 13 Chrysler, I have changed 2 actuators they are controlled by electric and started clicking when they went bad.

2001 dodge durango 4x2 with ac on, hot air blows out of driver side vents and cold air blows out of passenger side vents

There's a small motorized flap that's controlled by the heating and ac system that's gone bad. This part changes the air to flow from the ac or heating side depending on settings. I had a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the same issue, the fix is relatively simple once you get to it, however you must completely remove the dash to get to the part. The part is about 15.00. When removing the Dash you MUST disable the air bags, if you do not you risk injury or death if they are accidentally deployed.

The drivers side AC vents of my 2005 chevy tahoe started blowing hot air today. The rest of my air conditioning is running fine (passenger side and rear vents). Is this a thermostat issue and is it...

More than likely the problem is with one of the blend doors or its actuator motor inside the HVAC unit in the dash. The repair involves a partial disassembly of the dash to access the parts. This definitely not a thermostat issue.

How can I fix

This is either an out of phase issue or a temperature control blend door or blend door motor actuator problem, it can also be the climate control module in the dash, 1st try disconnecting the battery for 5 min's to re-sync the climate control module, if this fails u will need to find out what blend door is the problem or if they are ok replace the automatic climate control module in the dash
