I'm going to take a guess and say likely to be in the passenger compartment. Sometime, they are near the glove box. You can also look under the driver side compartment. There should be a plastic protective cap. Use a flashlight.

My OBD port is not working on my mountaineer and i went to change the fuse for it and there is no fuse on that Location on the fuse panel..just wondering if this is normal. 2000 mercury mountanieer with...

sometimes you have to wigle the OBD 2 connector on the tester. Sometimes, you have a tool that does not communicate with your OBD 2 system. Go to Autozone and have them do a free scan to see if their tester works.

Fuse 17, 25 amp, yellow in dash fuse panel supplies 12v

PIN 16 Orange, lower right I think is 12v all the time.

1999 Mercury Mountaineer 'check engine' light came on after a very cold night. checked oil and antifreeze. oil was 2 qts low and antifreeze was to the top. light won't go off

Fill oil up until the check engine light goes off. If it doesn't go off by itself, have the codes scanned by an OBD-II Scanner for 1996 and up vehicles. Then, if there aren't any significant codes, erase the codes using the OBD-II Scanner.

91000 miles; check engine light just came on?

Have your truck checked out with an OBD II scan tool. This tool hooks up underneath the drivers side steering wheel and will obtain the exact error code that will tell you what part has failed. This scan tool is avalible to use for free at your local auto parts store. Based on your mileage of 91,000 I would say the oxygen sensor has failed

03 mercury mountaineer, service engine soon light came on. i was told it needed a oil change . we did that , now how do i get the light to go off ?

Your Service Engine Soon light has nothing to do with reminding you to change your oil. The light is controlled by the ECM (Computer) in your vehicle. It monitors various sensors in your engine and compares them to variables or programs that is in its memory. When something is not registering correctly or is outside of its parameters it will turn on a MIL(Malfunction Indicator Light)or in your case a Service Engine Soon light. You will need a OBD II ( On Board Diagnostic) reader or scanner to hook up to your diagnostic port under your driver's side footwell to read what code the ECM is putting out. Than with the code the mechanic can look up the code to see what part is sending a malfunctioning. The scanner can also read and erase the code too. You can have your code pulled up with a OBD II scanner for free from any AutoZone store.
