When it's cold out (sub 15 deg F) and I start the car, there are about 5 loud knocks from the engine compartment. Changed tensioner and belt, that didn't fix the problem. Ideas?

These can be really hard to find. Try having someone else crank it while you listen with hood open. Use hose if needed to help find where the sound is coming from.

Have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire GT , Standard, makes knocking noise under hood. knocks worse between 1st and second gear?? help...

It sounds like a push rod is knocking. Need to have it checked by a qualified mechanic. Check the oil level. It could be a major problem for you if you keep driving it without taking it to someone.

I have a 2006 expedition 5.4 the temp gauge stays on cold whats wrong?

check your coolant. the temp is the water temp. Your radiator is out of water? you`ll burn out your water pump. Also check to see if your radiator fans are running constantly.

Hi I bought a 2006 Ford Explorer it has a outside temp. readout on the dash board. The temp is off by 15 degrees higher. What can I do to fix it?

if it is reading wrong al the time , replace the sensor. if reads off after car is driven sensor might have been moved to a spot near something warm and needs to be put back

What engine is this? if it is the 4.0L then talk to the dealer there is a recall on the camshaft drive chain hydraulic tensors, these will cause a rattle noise.
