Question about 1998 GMC Jimmy

Erratic starting problems

1998 Jummy - VERY well maintained - just started having a problem starting it. Mechanic said computer shows no problem, car will turn over but will not start - almost as though the spark is not happening. It seems to happen when it's humid outside although the weather here in Maine has been cold/warm/wet/dry and I still haven't been able to pinpoint when it actually happens. It won't start today - it's 28degrees and rain/snow mix outside - started yesterday all day - it was 5degrees and sunny. Changed distributor and rotor - to no avail. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

I just had the same problem i thought it was weather related ,too but it was not. you need to replace the ignition module mounted beside the coil and its set in an alumine bracket that has wires that plug into it it cost about $ 72.00 very easy to replace

Gmc jummy electirc proble about fule come but injucter is not working

with the key on you should have power on one wire at each of the injectors and the ground circuit is controlled by the computer.with a voltmeter you see battery voltage on one wire and you see the ground voltage can see this best on a meter that has a graphing meter on it.

My honda CRV 1998 wont start. All the lights show in the dashboard the fans run but the engine wont start

First check that there is fuel in the tank. If there is fuel listen for the fuel pump. Second check for spark.for this you have to check the ignition system from distributor to sparkplug. Third check for fault codes in computer (ECU) This is why you should go to a mechanic. This is only a few things you can check. Good luck

My honda idles very high and low and erratic when iac disconnect

You need to have the throttle adjusted and since this will involve adjusting the air to fuel mixture you will most likely need a mechanic with a computer bench to do the work. Should cost around $40 to $50.

Problem starting

hello with out being able to see the car and based on what your explaining i would have your mechanic check the idle air control valve (iac motor) common problem on gm if the throttle bore is varnished the pintle on the end can stay stuck in the bore causing erratic idle ,stalling ,hestitation, even no start conditions
