Truck Stalls when ideling in traffic

When driving the truck runs fine but when in traffic or at a red light my truck sputters and feels like its going to cut out. If I place the truck in neutral or in park it won't cut out. have anyone experience this?
Oh - this started happening when I filled up my tank and then added a bottle of STP gas cleaner to my tank

I'm having the exact same problem. Runs kindof choppy when driving (spits & sputters some), but when I stop at a light or drive thru, etc, it bogs down, then dies. If I put it in neutral or park, it doesn't die, just if it's in drive. Mine has nothing to do with fuel, I don't believe. I put medium & high octane Exxon Mobil in mine and always have and haven't always had the problem. Any suggestions, I'd love to have some !!

I don't know what the STP cleaner may have done; I had a similar problem where my car would idle very low when stopped or in a drive-through waiting. It turns out there was black soot on the engine intake. I disconnected the rubber hose from the air filter at the engine (take cover off, loosen 1 clamp). I used a spray can of throttle body cleaner and wiped the area clear. I then had my dealer perform the programming change for a service bulletin that mentions throttle body coking.

In general, yes. This is a carb tuning issue. Another possibility is a vacuum leak somewhere, but most likely, it's a carb issue. You'll typically see your rpm drop a bit when you put it in gear, but that it sometimes stalls out points to a carb issue.

From red light truck started sputtering and and stalled out

Hello. The GMC Sierra has an electric fuel pump so you should ensure that its fuses and relays are working before checking it. You may need to clean your fuel pump or replace it if your gas tank is not empty, but your vehicle has difficulty getting fuel. The GMC Sierra comes in a variety of styles and trim levels that can affect the replacement fuel pump you choose.

Stalls when ideling

Coolant temperature sensor can be checked with an ohmeter.
You should be able to get the cold and hot values from your local auto parts store or a GM manual at your library.
Good place to start with the described condition .
Have you replaced the coolant lately or therm ostat?
If so it may have an air pocket.
To check this feel if you get hot air from the heater constantly or it fluctuates.
