Question about 2001 Jaguar XJ8
Starts fine ticks over fine reverses on its own steam soon as you go to pull away no responce popping back through air flow until engine becomes tepid the fine
If lurches when going forward and requires extra throttle, but reverses okay, it due to breakage of the valve body spring. All ZF HP-series automatics have this problem. Have a qualified Jag shop (independent is okay) replace the spring with the improved unit. If you wait too long the transmission will fail completely.
