No fire TO the coil? spark is made by the coil, it does not go to it!!!
It's possible that if you are getting 12v to the coil hot lead, that the crank sensor has failed, or the coil itself is bad, There is also a remote possibiolity that the pickup sensor in the distributor is bad, but this is rare compared with the other two items I mentioned. Also, make sure your ignition wires are in good condition and not wet or damp!!

Last week it started smoking like a forest fire, then quit the 2 days later did it again. i stopped for 10 min then didnt smoke again

It sounds like you have a bad gasket. When you start the engine it is cold and everything is contracted allowing possibly coolant to get into the pistons. Once the engine warms the metal and gaskets expand, closing the leak off. This is only a guess though, not knowing the make, model or year of vehicle and not knowing if the smoke is blue, black or white it's hard to give you a more definitive answer.

Hard starting, rough idle when cold, then smooth running when warm

Need year/make/model/mileage of vehicle to provide a more specific set of troubleshooting steps.

When was the last tune up? Hard starts when cold are usually caused by fouled spark plugs, worn plug wires, or weak ignition coils. Fuel systems are not as effected by temperature changes as the ignition components.

Good Evening, you might want to check those injectors, I can not remember for certain but that setup was sequential and when one or two have a problem it would take out the rest. Ohm out the injectors and see what you have there.

Did you change spark plugs wires? fuel filter? I do not know if your car has MAF sensor, but if it does, clean it. Use CRC- Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner. also check Spark Plugs Gap and coil (s)

Changed thermostat still blowing cold air

Get it warmed up, and with the heat on and running, feel the coolant lines that go from the engine compartment through the fire wall to the heater core. They should both be hot. If not you may have a plugged up heater core. If you can remove both hoses and flush water through it, sometimes this will unclog the core.
