You are not going to find this free online, try ebay for a used factory manual, that is the only place that has detailed info good enough for an overhaul.

Trying to replace the trans control solenoid where is it located and how difficult please help

well that depend on what exact transmission.
unstated.?
the FSM covers this, the factory service manual, buy one,
or
alldata.com ?

why not just look at jeep, online, in parts department
look up your car, your engine, and trans,
then see what is there.

the 4.0L uses this solenoid to shift.

the engine size determines what transmission you get.
(max torque dictates that need, as does gas/diesel)

there it is. (example1)

1994 jeep 42re transmission shifting problem

I'm having a problem with my tranny not wanting to shift automatically at all. Seems like a dead stop its stuck in low gear. Have to manually shift and does not go into overdrive. I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Can anyone help me cause I've swiched out throttle control sensor, filter change, new tranny cooler and heavy duty lines. I'm at a loss and scratching my head. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

If it is automatic it could be an A500/42RH, 42RE or an A518/46RH, 46RE
If it is manual it is a 5 Speed (Aisin AX15)

Where is the speed sensor located on a 2000 jeep Grand cherokee v6 4.0 L?

Since you have the die hard, can not kill 4.0, I believe this mated with the 42RE transmission. My understanding It use's a single sensor (located on the overdrive gear case, over the park gear). The 42RE transmissions use a single sensor (located on the overdrive gear case, over the park gear). The 42RE transmissions use a single sensor (located on the overdrive gear case, over the park gear).

I have a 94 cherokee limited 5.2 v8. which transmissions are come

The 46rh is a hydraulic transmission as where the 46re is an electric transmission. With minor wiring you can replace the 46re with the 46rh but not the other way around. Your transmission would stay in limp mode and wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear. So the answer is no.
