My sunroof in my Hummer stopped working today (and it's about to rain!) It stops in the middle and when we try to push it close, it starts going back and forth and jams up. Do you have any idea what it could be? Thank you.

Probably the blower motor control processor is bad , but without testing that would be just a guess . Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuits using a DVOM - digital volt meter ? HVAC Blower Motor Circuit
GM had a major problem with this issue as models with sunroofs had drain holes that were mfr'd too small. On models without sunroofs, the drains behind the pillars were too small creating the wet/mildewy/dampness issue. All mods were at the expense of the consumer. However if you know a good body and fender man, they can perform this mod for a fairly decent price with excellent results.
I had this exact same problem when ever it rained with our 1999 Range Rover. Even the spare tire area in the back filled up but didn't know it until I got a flat tire. Two things were wrong. The sunroof leaked and we didn't know it. Also the seal all around the frontwindshield was not sealed tight but didn't know as neither of these were obvious. We ended up using "duct tape all over the roof around the sunroof and I meen a lot of tape! It looked bad from the sky, however stopped leaking 100% Dont use the sunroof if you have one until summer, remove wet tape periodically and inspect. Hope this helps! :)
on your hummer ,as on other 4x4 if in 4 wheel you must have slippage on the tires or you will snap the drive shafts or u joints.the wheels on a turn will turn at diff speeds thats why in 4 wheel it feels like you are crawling over your own fender.its ok if on packed snow or rain but if you have good grip tires it might do it in the rain.never have in 4 wheel lock on dry pavement.
My 06 was leaking during rain also. It turned out to be the sunroof.
There are two drain tubes in the front of the sunroof that run the
water down the corners to the ground and two drain tubes that drain
water out the back corners. The water would seep around the glass,
which is expected, but both of the tubes on the front of mine were
plugged, and the water would overflow behind the dash and fill my
floorboards. If my H3 was leaning to the left during a storm then the
drivers side would be full of water. If leaning right, then the
passenger side. I had to open sunroof and blow compressed air into the
drain holes to clear them, but be careful, too much air will separate
tubes from sunroof and then you will have to remove the inside paneling
around sunroof to get to tubes and reconnect. You may only have one
side plugged. you can test it by opening sunroof and pour a little
water in the small catch pan in the front of the sunroof and see if it
drains as expected (to the ground under the firewall on left AND right
side). You can see the holes in each corner of catch pan to drain the
water. Plug one with your finger, then the other to find the plugged
side. Good luck!! Hope this helps!!
if you do not use the sunroof on a regular basis the water standing in the track fills the cable tube and causes it to rust. unfortunately the only way to fix it is to replace the entire sunroof track. they do not sell parts separately except for the motor. to test the motor remove the 2 screws in the cover the switch is attached to. slide the cover foeward and it will come off. leave the wires plugged in and take the 2 10mil bolts out of the motor and it will come off. then try the sunroof switch and see if the motor works. if so, you need a new track. if not check voltage to motor. sanders paint and body 34695
