Question about 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse
I have a 2000 jeep cherokee and i started up my car and it worked fine, then i went into the store came back out and tried to start it up and the key will not turn. i tried turning the steering wheel and know that is locked up. i put the key in the ignition and it wont let me turn it back or forward. any ideas?
THe tumblers in the ignition cylinder are probably worn therefore won't alow you to turn the key. Try inserting the key and jiggle it around while you are trying to start it. Sometimes it will work.

The steering locks don't necessarily engage when the key is removed, I always turn the wheel before exiting to engage it. There are several positions that will allow the pin to lock in but if between these, it may seem that it isn't locked.
