Question about 2000 Ford Windstar

Trouble starting a Ford Windstar 2000

I have just finished reinstalling the head gasket on my car and when I went to turn it on it would work for about a minute, then it would start to stutter and then, after a while, would drown itself and die.
Please let me know if anyone knows what the problem is or if you know anyone that could help.

SOURCE: my car is a ford contour 2000 SE please i need help

You may experience a misfire if your car is noisy on gas,and is shaking on accelaration .
you might have to check on the injection system :injectors and injector wires. also a dirty MAF and a bad spark plug may cause it .
you may wanna get the code from a OBD2 device to know where the malfunction is .
good luck !

2000 ford windstar has a bad stumble when idling like it's missing accelerates fine when reaches cursing speed acks like it's missing also my cruise control stoped working

If your Windstar has the 3.8 liter engine, you are due for head gasket replacement. Just had mine done. The cruise control failure could be due to an open fuse or speed sensor failure.

Have a 2000 ford windstar heats up lost power

Too many possibilities to get into here. Get a good DIY mechanic to run through ; Engine condition, Cooling system, Drive belts, Compression test for head gasket trouble, Blocked rad, etc etc. You need experienced help. The only thing I advise, is, don't throw parts at it without knowing the problem. Get it properly diagnosed.

My 2000 Windstar runs well for first 20-30 mins then it starts to have engine knock it is also using oil but not burning it. Doesn't smoke doesn't show any signs of leaks under car either

Check your engine coolant. If its brown you may have a blown head gasket which is causing it to leak into the cooling system. (expensive fix) but if it's not brown I'd take it to a mechanic and have further inspection. Hope this helps:)

The 2000 Ford Windstar that I have is using water. I fill it up with 2 containers of antifreeze and the next evening it needs some more added. I do not see any visible leaks in the driveway or when it is...

Engine coolant that is disappearing and leaving no visible trace is NOT a good thing. You most likely have a blown head gasket or a cracked cylinder head. (engine coolant going out the exhaust) Also check your oil to make sure the water is not getting into your crankcase. If it is, the oil will be over-full and will look like a chocolate milk-shake.

I have a 1998 Ford Windstar and the water pump went out so i had that fix the same day I had the spark plugs done after that car started made all kinds of noises then ran hot again after that the car...

If it ran hot when the water pump went out, it may have melted some of the interior parts and so ruined the engine. As it was driven on, it probably blew the head gasket. You may fix it simply by replacing the head gasket or you may need a complete engine overhaul, depending on how hot it got and how much damage was done. The only way to know for certain is to go into the engine to assess the damage.
