Question about 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis
Do i need to remove the intire dash or is it behind the instyrument panel and vent duct
Have done this job a few times at the ford dealer, and yes the entire dash must come out.

Disconnect the electrical connection at the blend door actuator (#10 in pic below).

Remove the blend door actuator mounting screws from the HVAC module.
Remove the blend door actuator as an assembly with the actuator cam.
