You will need to remove the steering column to start. From there there should be a either small bolts on the switch itself. After that just remove the plug from the harness from under the dash and pull the whole assembly out.

When you touch the turn signal lever do you hear clicking noise befor u lift up or down if so then could be bad turn switch or just bad relay replace relay first if still doing it replace the switch get Haynes book to help with switch removal and install if relay don't fix it cause u will have to remove steering wheel etc to fix it if switch is bad

Is there an adjustment for the stop light switch on a 99 GMC Yukon. I have replace it and my brake lights still do not work. Park lights work fine.

There is no adjustment. The park lights are on a different circuit than the brake lights.
Do you have a third brake light that works. Its also on a different circuit but works from the same switch. Do your turn signals work. They use the same filament as the brake lights.
Also, the brake light circuit goes through the multi function (turn signal) switch.

Since the brake lights and turn signal lights use the same filament in the bulbs, the brake light circuit will pass through the turn signal switch. When a turn signal is used it cancels out the brake light for that side.

Let me know if your third brake light and turn signals work in the rear.
Also, if youy have not already, check/change the bulbs. The type of sockets those lights are in also get burned so look at them well.

99 yukon brake lights will not work, repllaced brake light switch still wont work

Had the same problem on my Yukon, I had to get the winshield wiper switch (controls cruise control, turn signal, and winshield wipers) replaced. This switch controls the hazards as well.

Do your rear turn signals work? If not, I would bet you have a bad turn signal switch.

2004 GMC Yukon xl......If I put left turn signal on, the emergency lights flash. Found a burnt bulb for brake light and changed it. Problem persist. Emergency flasher switch still turns on flashers...

That vehicle has all three switches attached to the same module. Spray a little wd-40 into the flasher switch. Sometimes the slide on the flasher switch gets a little sticky and won't allow the turn signal to work independently. If that isn't the case, there is a repair kit for that available on ebay. the module of course costs around three hundred to replace but could possibly be found at a boneyard for much less. Also, check ebay for that module. Hopefully the WD-40 will fix it. Good luck.

96 gmc yukon Reverse Lights Turn Signal Lights & CC don't work

Try having someone watch the rear of the vehicle as you put it in reverse and see if they come on briefly, The backup light switch may need to be adjusted.

Headlights not working

Ok Guys Thanks I will check into the dimer switch first, But if it is the turn signal switch assembly with the high beam control on it, it will not be cheap, I think they run about 260.00 each.

Thank you for your input.
