Belt was only coming off when it rained. Replaced with a new belt that has treads/ribs. Now there is a squealing noise. Noticed that there is a small hose that is above belt area that is dripping onto belt. Could you tell me what this is and how to tighten it? Someone told me it takes the rain away from motor. (This was same person who was going to charge me $200 to replace belt. I'm just a handicapped woman. I'm not ignorant.)There's been no rain so there should be no water. Also he told me I needed to have several pulleys replaced. I didn't tell him that a pulley and tensioner was replaced several months ago. That was going to be another $400. I want to fix my van and drive it to him and show him I fixed it myself. Any suggestions? Any assistance would be awesome. Have a blessed day.

My first suggestion would be to take it to your local auto parts store and have them run a diagnostic scan. it free and will usually pin point any problem. but it sounds like there is a fault in the fuel control sensor. I hope this helps please rate this Thank You

Belts stretch from new. Try to tighten them again. Hopefully the are not glazed or this may stay with you.

You need to replace the tensioner assembly, not just the pulley.....

idler pulley or belt tensioner usually makes the squealing noise..put a long steel bar (extension) near the pulley and listen to the noise by putting your ear near the tool and you will hear it

have u checked the dampner pulley,it may b coming apart. if it only squeaks with the a/c on then it's your a/c clutch pulley.
