SOURCE: MY TOW/HAUL BUTTON ON MY GEAR SHIFT WILL WORK FOR
The lever "pivot" has broken the wire leading up to the switch. Replace switch (I believe you must purchase the entire lever)

SOURCE: tow haul flashing, shifts like the tow haul buttons
If that light is flashing that means there is a problem with the trany. If you continue to drive it, it will damage the trany. I suggest you get it into a trany shop as soon as possible. I guess, I would take it to a private shop, that specializes in automatic transmissions, instead of taking it to a dealer.

SOURCE: transmission tow/haul mode
Hi, the problem is when you are tilting the steering wheel all the way up it's putting to much tenstion on the wires that come outof your shifter that run to the tow/haul button. i am 99% sure your wires are disconected. rewire them and add some extra wire so next time there will be more slack in your wires.

Mine is basically doing the same thing. When the transmission needs to shift into overdrive, it stops pulling and the motor will rev until it kinda jumps and the tow/haul indicator will begin flashing. I can then drive fine only it feels like the truck will not go into O/D and it turns about 1000 RPM higher at 65 mph than it did before. It had this problem for a week and mysteriously wuit for a couple of weeks and then started again.
