Please tell us if this truck has a tilt steering wheel. The most common cause of an ABS failure is the "clock spring". This device is located in the steering column. It takes special tools to disassemble the steering column to reach it. The part will be in the $50 - $100 range. Do you have a computer scan tool? If so, you can retrieve a fault code, which will tell where the problem is.

I think Chaskuss has ABS and SRS mixed up. If your antilock brake light is on it could be a couple of different problems, most likely it is a bad wheel speed sensor which unfortunatly on the front are part of the hubs and must be replaced as an assembly. There is no part in the steering column that has anything to do with the braking system. The rear sensor is located either at the wheels or in the side of the rear differential. Good luck

Abs and break light on and off

When I have the abs light go on in my F250 I am ready for bearings which comes with the whole hub assembly. This also includes the new lead for the ABS Sensor. Very easy fix if the hub is not frozen on but a few swear words and a puller will get you through it.

ABS light

The ABS like the rest of the truck is a system

You need to get the codes & diagnose from there,
the same as any time you get a malfunction lamp lite

If your asking what is common & fairly easy to fix,a
wheel speed sensor, but you don't throw parts at a code,
that isn't why come up

My abs and brake lights stays on and speed start to work after 35 miles.why? or where is that sensor?

It is your speed sensor in the rear is used for the ABS system, as well as low speed speedometer readings. I have had the same problem. It will cause the BRAKE and ABS lights to light as well as affect the speedo under 35 mph. It is an easy fix, and can be done by a DIYer or a shop for about $100.00.

Is the car safe to drive when the ABS, Service and the Traction Control OFF lights are on?

Truthfully, yes. But not as safe with the ABS and traction control systems working properly. The ABS system probably just needs a new sensor (located on the inside of the wheel) they are very easy to fix yourself if you want to take it on, just reply back and I can tell you how. The traction control is off because the ABS system is not working properly and it will not work until you fix the ABS. Depending on why the Service light is on may be another problem entirely, so I would take it to your local car parts place to see why the light is on, if it's related to the brakes, then it's all one thing. If it is something else, the car may not be safe to drive related to the engine light. I hope this helps! Good Luck

On dash board fuel empty light does no display but ABS display

the fuel light might possibly just be burned out, easy fix, the abs light could be because of low brake fluid pressure, or some other brake problem, hope this helps
