Try check the fuel pump outside the tank area check both the old one as well as the new one add power to the terminals outside the tank you could have a bad new pump or a bad connection going into the pump

SOURCE: i think i need to change the crankshaft position sensor.

yes the crankshaft position sensor can cause all these problems at once. they are fairly simple to change and not a really expensive part if you want to check it though you can unplug it and hook a multimeter to it and check ohms as someone cranks the engine. should see a square wave as in 0 ohs to infinity ohms and repeat.

SOURCE: 2002 kia sedona wont start

Yes, definitely. If you have some mechanical knowledge you should be able to change it yourself. If not, your Kia people should be able to do it at a very reasonable price.( less than £100)

YOU NEED TO SCAN IT.TO SEE WHAT CODE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS COMING UP WITH.IT COULD BE THE TORQUE CONVERTER ON TRANSMISSION REMAINING LOCK UP OR MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR.IF YOU REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP.YOUR FUEL FILTER WILL CAUSE THE SAME PROBLEM IF ITS STOPPED UP.

I have a 2002 buick rendezvours my car won't start

Did the people that told you to change the fuel pump
diagnose the entire electrical system for the fuel pump
or just guess at your expense?

If your the one working on your own car, then I have to say
if you don't have factory diagnostic manuals, wiring diagrams
& experience, not only car repairs but basic electricity, your
in trouble, because you have no reference material & no way
to know where to start testing

After 1996, the car has pretty much gone to the repair shops,
as most people never stayed up with new technology

If the new pump was installed by a repair shop, then you don't
need me to tell you the problem.
The shop failed to properly diagnose & resolve & that may be
what they do alot, as they are not up to speed

Why won't my new fuel pump in my 2002 kia sedona pump even though it's getting juice from the battery

Have you checked the injector rail with a gauge to know for sure the injectors are not getting fuel ?
If the pump is running but not pumping fuel I would think it is a clogged filter or screen in the tank.

2002 Kia Sedona won't start. The battery & park

Hi Tara, It sounds to me as if you have damaged the voltage regulator in the alternator. When you disconnected the battery with the engine running and then increased the engine revolutions it is likely that the system overloaded and burned out the zena diode. It is not a good idea to check the charging system in that manner. If you need to do so for any reason, or if you are jump starting another vehicle, before disconnecting the leads from the battery, always turn on the head lights and the heated rear window. Doing this will minimize the probability of a voltage surge and consequential damage to the charging and other systems such as the electronic management units of your vehicle. Sorry to tell you this, but expect major problems and maybe a replacement computer among other items. Regards John

04 kia sedona 89,000 miles Was running fine until I ran out of gas. Filled up and now it has no power and can't go over 35mph but rpms are high and it used a whole tank of fuel in under a few hou

It won't run right at all, if you have huge vacuum leaks,
from the converter being loose

The O2 Sensors won't report back the correct oxygen
content in the exhaust

Then the fuel injector timing will be out of wack

I'm not against people working on there own cars &
learning the hard way. I would encourge it,just read
up on OBD2 Systems first, so you don't put problems
in ,when your trying to get other ones out.

I would check for codes at the parts store, if you have any
dash lights on.
Then spend an any hours labor at a local repair shop to
help you understand what happened with your present

My 2005 Kia Sedona won't start - I don't think it's the battery.

If the battery is low on charge (but not dead) then the sound should be a fast clicking of the voltage regulator. In this case no power is sent to the starter so the car engine will not turn over. All you hear is the fast click.
You mention a high-pitched quiet buzz sound. All I can think of is the electric fuel pump but that is in the fuel tank. There can be be a whine/buzz when starting the car because the fuel pump needs to pressure up the system. However, if the battery/starter are good then the engine would turn over, but with no fuel...it would not start if the fuel pump is bad.
If the car is a manual...you might try putting it in gear and rocking the car a bit to see if the starter somehow is jammed

Where is the fuel filter in the 2002 Kia Sedona?

Hi jlalarcong,
The fuel filter on a 2002 Kia Sedona is actually attatched to pump.
To access the filter you will have to take out the pump, unfortunately this resaults in damaging the pump, and would have to be changed. You can locate the pump/filter in the tank which is accessed from an access pannel on the floor board behind the front seats.
I hope this helps you.
