Keys in trunk

My brother just locked his keys in the trunk of his 1998 Lincoln Continental and his back seat is bolted down. Is there another way that he can get it open?

Yes thats what he ended up having to do...take out the back seat then cut his way through 2 layers of carpeting....all in all he got his keys out and stopped at the first home depot he could find to make a spare.

    Thanks for all your help!

power windows will not go up or down, the trunk will not open when using trunk switch, door locks will not lock or unlock unless I use the key. The electric seats work as well as the power mirrors.

Well your brother didn't have to go through all the trouble of cutting and damaging and then spending money to fix it IF he knew the door code.

When you unlock the doors with the code for example the code is

08023

well when you put in this code the drivers door unlocks
right after putting the code in, pushing the 3/4 button unlocks all of the doors
AND right after doing the same thing you push the 5/6 button and the trunk opens....

so you can push 08023-3/4-5/6 and all the doors and the trunk will unlock/open
you can do it with just the drivers door, the drivers door and all the doors or the drivers door and the trunk.....

So if he knows the code tell him this so he doesn't have to tear up his back seat if it happens again....

E-mail me and tell me if this worked please. I wanna know so bad.....Thanks

Go to dealer with VIN # and get a new door key cut easiest thing I am not sure what the cost would be but if the ign and door keys are the same he could opt. not to get the programmed key

a lock smith could get you in but you pay him just to get in the car the key from dealer will cost around the same and you have a key in case it happens again. If you did get the back seat out you will prob. not be able to get in there. have you tried to get the seat out yet?

Not that I have found. Went to the beach and the keys got locked in the trunk by mistake. Took out the back seat and no way in. Had to call a mobile locksmith and he had me in in minutes. Embarrassing, expensive and learned a valuable lesson, hide out keys!

I locked my keys in the trunk the 2 keys ignition and trunk keys r locked in the trunk ..how can i get the trunk opened to get them out?

I did this once myself to my 1989 crown vic. There should be 2 bolts on the back seat (follow the seat belt down, you'll feel them.) Take off the nuts from each side and the backrest of the entire seat pulls up and out. you should be able to see clearly into the trunk, grab a flashlight and hopefully hook your keys pulling them out.

Another possibility is the trunk open button in the glove box should you be so equipped, but it may require power to open, the crown vic would not release unless the car was on, but it could be worth a try.

I have a 1994 Lincoln Town Car and I looked my keys in the trunk. How can I get in the trunk to get them?

if theres no trunk release check the top of the rear seats for a button or tap to push or pull and the seats should fold down most cars that year had them but not 100% sure if yours does hope this helps

Keys lock in trunk alarm will not allow trunk switch to lock

The solution is to pull out the back seat to get into the trunk. There are two bolts holding the bottom part of back seat (bolts located between bottom and top sections). Then pull out bottom section of back seat and you see the hinge for the top section, remove the bolts and then you can lift up and access the trunk. It's not that hard.

How to get into trunk w/o keys and trunk opener. Keys are locked in trunk and button inside car is locked.

Using your keyless entry on the keypad, press the 5 digit code to get into the door and press the 6 key immediately after. Lincoln has several codes in addition to the 5 digit keyless entry like pressing the 3 to open all the doors, the 6 for the trunk and pressing the last 2 buttons at the same time to lock the doors.
